van morrison - "back on top" is a superb album by one of belfasts famous sons. now resideing in wales with his wife and son and approaching retirement age, van shows no signs of slowing down. Still doing live shows on an almost weekly basis and releaseing a new album mostly each year. vans back catalogue is endless. ive got almost every album vans released inc some compilations *greatest hits. my collection is touching 50 a mix of lps and cds. In my opinion vans music has improoved as the years have past, celtic new year, back on top, down the road all cracking albums. blues, r&b soul and even country {im not kean on country} vans ventured into almost all the genres and a more dedicated prolific artiste would be hard to name. van just loves performing live, superb harmonica and sax i just love to hear van live he never dissapoints. back on top title track is contagious as is the whole album, for van fans everywhere its a must and for those few who havent any van material i recommend you start with this album and it will lead to a collection of fine material from a true artiste a superb writer of stories that draw you in and get you on vans wavelength which truly is a good place to be ! 64 and still as kean as ever still interesting and still he comes up with something to suprise.

Van Morrison

This is a good album, although not absolutely blinding if you consider it to other Van Morrison material. Having said this, 'Precious Time' and 'High Summer' are absolutely fantastic tracks that you will love the second you hear them. They should go on to be real classics in the vein of 'Brown Eyed Girl'.Read full review...
