Water tank just lifts off and wide opening in bottom so easy fill. Generally quiet though glugging sound every now and again. You can see the warm mist as it comes out of the top ... has really helped my congested dog as keep door closed and on the higher of 2 settings. I have to say this has worked wonders for me. As a chronic asthmatic and having had major bronchial issues this year I was at my wits end. Works as it says on the tin. low setting will last for good 8-12 hours. Quiet compared to my past humidifier. Cannot recommend any less.
And the vicks pads section and little container on top to pour in essential oil are designed perfectly and works like magic too.
