This unit is awesome!
I was hesitant to purchase this based on some of the negative reviews I read here. I am happy to report I have not experienced any issues with this accessory.
The laser is the brightest I have ever seen, the light, while only 100 lumens is very bright and enough to illuminate an entire room. The program features make this unit completely customizable even down to the brightness of the flashlight!
I put 200 rounds through my Springfield XDM and the laser never moved, it stayed locked on target. I suspect the issues people report of the laser not staying sighted in when they shoot is either having the wrong brackets installed or not having the mount screws tight enough.
The feature I most like is the ECR technology which with a comparable holster turns the unit on as it is drawn so it is ready to go! Again the versatility of the device allows any of the 7 combination settings you want to be active as soon as the weapon is removed from the holster. I have thought and researched getting a tact light for two months and know I made the right choice with the C5L.Read full review

A High Price for Low Quality Mounts
The Veridian c5l light is good but the plastic rails for mounting on a Glock 19 and 23 a very poor quality. For the high cost of a good light the mounting rails should be made of aluminum in order to keep point of aim consistent. If the rail is tightened too much, the front end of the rail will start to collapse in on itself. Again, for the price, this is a poor design for mounting a good light.I notified the Veridian company about this and they have ignored my critique.

After searching for the best and precise green laser, I found that the Viridian C5L was the best option for my Glock 23 Gen 4. I was reviewing and asking about the X5L because I read that it have 224 lumens instead 100 for the C5L. I live in an apart place on a hill in which the dark and the shadows are my first enemy. I need something that really help me in a situation that attempt to my family. The C5L green laser, believe me, comply and fill ALL the requirements and necessities that my specific area need. This is the ultimate Laser system
This is the ultimate Laser system in my opinion. Recently purchased Viridian's small system to put on a friends Glock 43 because in a SHTF situation I wanted her to be able to just put the green dot on the target and take them down as quickly as possible. Viridian's "ECR" technology helps by taking away the fact that you have to "think" about turning the laser or light on. If you have to draw, it turns on automatically. Possible downside?
Remove from compatible TacLoc holster, or simply push ambidextrous button and the strobe-flashlight, and/or laser (also strobe) turns on with preset memory. Only possible downside would have to be initial cost. But if this laser-light is to be used in a self defense situation like it is designed for, what cost would be too high? For everyday use (night security) I would suggest multiple rechargeable batteries and always carry a spare or price of batteries could quickly become a downside also. Just want a cheap light? Buy a cheap light. Want a quality light-laser with choice of strobe on either, look no further.Read full review

Viridian C5L Green Laser/tac light.
I bought this for my Springfield xd .45 sub compact mod2. I attached it and it fits like a glove. I’ve never done this before as this is the 1st weapon I’ve ever owned. Pretty simple procedure though I’m not sure I did it right. I placed the battery in its compartment put the battery cover back on turned it on and it works! I’m very happy with this purchase. Viridian did this right. The only tool you’ll need is a screwdriver to get the battery cover off It comes with a small tool to adjust elevation and windage and to replace the laser mounts if need be. The mounts that came with mine were a perfect fit. Now I’m waiting for my bore-sight to get here so I can zero the laser. Next is going to be night sights! The Viridian Green C5L Universal SubCompact Green Laser w/ Tactical Light 100 Lumens arrived 2 days earlier than scheduled, that was great. The SubCompact Laser Light was easy to install after replace the sides for my Glock. Its was easy to zero the laser and easy to work the flashlight which both laser and light are bright. I was careful when installing the battery and screwing the battery cap. My next stop will be to see how the SubCompact Laser and Flashlight holds up at the firing range, that will be the ultimate test. Vertical Zero Drift
Overall the product is great. Seems durable and with a ECR holster has a huge advantage over the competition. The only thing I've noticed is the laser zero tends to slowly drift higher over time. It doesn't move much, but it's something you'll want to adjust every few months if you carry it every day like I do. The good new is the windage stays dead on accurate. It's just the vertical zero that moves a minor 1 inch up at 10 yards after carrying it in an IWB holster every day for a month.Read full review
