Cheap Pentax flash for newer dslr cameras

Nice little flash for my Pentax k-x. Followed directions found online to modify it so it works with modern Pentax dslr cameras. Simply cut the purple and white wires (which are for Olympus and Minolta cameras) inside the unit and it no longer confuses the cameras shutter speed for flash shooting. Still playing with it to figure out its limitations but the various modes on the flash provide different results as needed. Overall, for how cheap these flashes can be bought for, it is an excellent value. It will do the job until I can upgrade to a newer Pentax flash, which are very expensive in comparision to this unit.Read full review...

I use these Thyristor flashes as props for fake paparazzi gigs. The 550FD is always dependable and flashes great for my purposes.
