Volquartsen Extractor - True plug and play.

Pros - Simple and quick install. Took about 5 minutes including breaking the shotgun down. True plug and play, mine required no fitting at all. Fit and finish are perfect.

Cons - A little pricey for what your getting but it is a personal choice and not a deal breaker.

Installed this on my home defense 870. Why? Just piece of mind I guess. The original extractor worked fine but in beefing up my home build, I just wanted the best with no room for failure.

Installed in 45 seconds...

Made of excellent tool steel and designed to be very durable. This company is well known for their rimfire upgrades for competition shooters. Was so excited to see they offered an upgrade for a tried and true shotgun model!

So I’m not kidding, after looking up a video I had my extractor installed in 45 seconds. It was remarkably simple. Can’t wait to hit the range and see how it performs!

Awesome!!

These are very well made and well worth the price versus buying a used one. This fixed my Remington 1100 12ga to where it ejects shells like a brand new shotgun. Very happy!!!!

Easily one of the easiest upgrades to do to an 870.

Great product, had no idea how much of an improvement this was over the Remington MIM part. I have less than 1000 rounds through 2 of my 870's. Been having ejection problems for a while, polished the chamber etc, not much help. Put these new extractors in and wow, they will pretty much rip anything out to eject it. Looked at the parts that came out, and though fairly new, were already rounded by wear. Super simple to install just look for all the youtube videos out there. Takes 5 minutes to install.Read full review

Of the highest quality

I've been having EJECTION problems with my 870 since the first day I bought it. Even sent it back to Remington. Still did eject properly. I've heard good thing about this NON-MIM ejector so I purchased it. Installed it about an hour ago and just finished shooting 75 rounds. Worked PERFECTLY! I did have one single failure to eject. Great product and recommend to all 870 owners that have the MIM ejectors.Read full review

May need fitting

Check the fitment on the gun after install. It may stick out further than original extractor and cut a groove into the receiver. If you feel any resistance from the extractor when working the slide, you need to file it down or get gunsmith to fit it. It is a tiny groove and shouldn't hurt anything but it is possible. works great but I think it could be a little cheaper but it's the only heavy duty extractor out their

Nicely machined steel replacement for MIM extractor.

Took only a couple of minutes to replace the slightly worn extractor in a 1988 era 870 Express (Combo) 12 gauge. Upon closer inspection, I believe the extractor in my Express Combo already was made of forged or machined steel, and not MIM… no mold marks, etc. Very minor wear on the extractor claw, so it was a good idea to replace it anyway.Read full review

An upgrade you can count on

Excellent replacement part for the Rem 870. The standard extractor in the 80 as it comes from the factory is good until its not, so why wait and have it fail at the moment you need it the most. This is built better and even heavier duty than the Remington 870 Police extractor which many people used to upgrade their 870 with. They're a little more expensive but worth every penny and you won't regret it especially if your using this for a self defense shotgun.Read full review
