Flimsy and bends easily

The review criteria guidelines are a bit limiting - but basically this is not up to the standard expected of a wolf tool.

It was purchased to dig out dandelions from a lawn - luckily it had been heavy rain overnight - so it will be easy with soft wet soil.

BUT the design and manufacture is such that weeder bent on 1st use. I now need to weld a strengthening web to make this usable - do Makita not try their tools before going into manufacture?Read full review

Brilliant piece of kit

For me, its the most used garden tool that i own. Perfect for pulling thistles and brambles out by their roots and its a walking stick as well! I have used and cherished, the original all wooden handle version of this tool for years and was reluctant to buy the 'modern' plastic version. i needn't have worried as its even more useful, due in part to the removable end. If you are pulling thistles, stand up and use the whole gadget, but if you are in the border on your knees then un-clip the tool from the shaft and bingo a perfect hand tool as well! Die dandelions die!

I moved into a nice bungalow a while back but the area is bad for dandelions.
Push it down around the plant and rotate - it cuts through everything around then lift the dandelion out with 2-3 inches of root.
