Wages of Fear

Hair-raising 1953 adventure yarn about four unemployed men who, in desperation, take on a highly dangerous job: delivering lorry-loads of nitro-glycerine (which explodes at the slightest jolt) to a blazing oil well. The story starts slowly, in a tiny South American town full of no-hopers and the occasional flash of lust, but once the characters have been established, the nailbiting journey begins.
