Beautiful Walks in a Brilliant Book
Our son bought us a book from the same series, the Lake District, which we use often. Since we live in Northumberland we decided to buy this book. A few of the walks we had already had knowledge of, but there are some lovely walks that we didn’t know about and we look forward to completing them. The directions for the walk are precise and easy to follow.
Well worth the money and definitely recommended.Read full review

A great book of Northumberland walks as only Cicerone can do well
Northumberland is a massive area to cover for a book of walks, and this book covers it in 36 walks.
The book starts with a decent index, and 20 pages giving what to expect in this region, with text giving a flavour of the area covered, and photos showing views not to be missed. Each walk section provides details to help plan your day, with Distance, Ascent, Grade, Walking time, Terrain, Transport and Facilities. The directions are clear, Photos show main features to see en-route, and the colour map clearly shows the route and arrows to show which way to go.
The book is a neat size that will easily fit in your pocket during your walk, yet provides the relevant information for it.
Cicerone walking books are my favourite to get the best out of visiting an area.Read full review
