War of the Worlds (Ultra HD, 2005)

Some people will always find a reason to hate a Tom Cruise effort,but he always makes the best movie he can.

This is a great movie based on the H.G. Wells book. Watched it in 4K and considering this is a nearly 25 year-old production it is a MIGHTY effort. Tom Robbins is the only other "name" actor, but no matter, the special effects and sound make sure there aren't any gaps to worry about. Gripping and startling might be the two best words I can think of. There are lots of audio dynamics afoot too, so if you have a good system, let it rip!Read full review
