30k- cooler than 40k.

I bought these with the intent of making myself some World Eaters Astartes (you can search up my blog to read the backstory explaining why... It's complicated Battlespecter Blog, just google it) and was impressed. Fit and finish is what you'd expect from a GW product. The figure fit together awesome, and the mold lines were minimal. One thing I will harp on (though it is minor) is the pouches. Like most GW pouches, they just don't fit anywhere on the model without some modification. Dreamforge Games' Valkir have the same problem, but their Eisenkern have pouches made for the parts of the body that they are supposed to go on. It makes the models feel better in the hand. If GW could do that, it would be icing on an already really good cake. It's this minor issue that makes these four stars. I know it's minor, but it bears mentioning. The kit comes with one melta and a plasma, as well as a heavy bolter for special weapons, and a power sword, lightning claw/power claw, power fist, thunder hammer, and chainsword for the Sergeant. There are also sheathed chainswords and bolt pistols for most of the Marines, plus fourteen heads. One thing my son noticed after we got the first one together after comparing it to one of his newer generation models is that the Mk III's are a tad taller. Not sure if it is the pose, or if they are indeed taller, but it bears mentioning. I have not started kit bashing these with the newer generation of Astartes armor, but from what I can tell they will meld perfectly, allowing for some truly epic conversions and mixed armors. Perfect for the force I am putting together. If you like Space Marines, then you should buy some of these. At $22 a squad, they are well worth the coin (higher dollar value than a GW boxed set... Then again, anyone who buys GW mini's knows this). I'm going to have to buy another- possibly of the Calth variety. All in all- really well done. Now... If GW would just release these as stand alone kits.Read full review

A well featured kit

Contains all the components and very few extras compared to other GW boxed sets. This is made up for by the sheer volume of miniatures you get for your money. The molding is excellent and the level of detail is quite good.Read full review

Little Toy Men

If you know the fluff behind them try be one an amazing centerpiece to an even more exciting hobby. Sure, they don't come to life or actually wage war, but on the tabletop they come close.

Prepare to cut yourself, to get stuck to glue, to hate your paint job and inevitably realize that these ten little plastic men have kept you from doing drugs... as you won't have time or money for drugs once you begin your journey into, Warhammer 30k.Read full review
