BEST BEAT EM UP EVER !!!

Undoubtedly not just the best beat em up on the 3do ,but the best beat em up ever invented. Trust me I got every game console from atari 2600 to xbox one ,and I got fighting games on every system. This game has the humour that the others lack. Yes mortal kombat on the snes is great and killer instinct too ,and mace on the n64 ,and street fighter. Yes all good...but there's something about way of the warrior that really satisfies. It's the humour and the characters. From biker chicks to dragon type creatures ,from Aussie crocodile dundee clones to Bruce Lee wannabes, they all have personalities that will entertain ,and catch phrases too like..."my dead grandfather fights better than you" !!!. This game is 3do only and is a must have. I was lucky with my purchase ,but it's well worth 20 bux if you have too !!!. I love this game so much I have 2 originals and 1 back up copy too !!!.

WAY better than most 3DO fighting games!

Way of the Warrior was released in 1994 on the 3DO. It's a poor attempt by Naughty Dog (creators of Crash Bandicoot) to make a MK clone since it was not released for the console. This game is by no means even trying to be a quality fighting game.

First off you have a cast of mundane characters with names like Dragon and Nikki Chan (Jackie Chan's sister?) to select, although who could forget gender confused Konotori with a lisp who wears a Raiden hat with Kitana's fans. Next comes the fighting (or lack of) in the game with some of the worst animation (see Dragon's goofy win pose) in the genre to this very day. The characters move so slow when performing a simple jump you will float in the air for a few seconds. The A.I. in the game is a joke making it impossible to have a fair fight based on any type of skill. The main positive I hear people mention is the music which I highly disagree with! I think it was lazy to have no original soundtrack, instead recycled songs from a White Zombie CD (at least it's not rap) that would appeal to nu-metal fans. The sound effects are equally bad with everything from chicken noises, bells, and horrible dialogue that would have Roger Corman & Lloyd Kaufman laughing out loud to this fun cheesy game. Still the background / stage fatalities (minus The Cliff) are some of the best in a fighting game!

Not quite Mortal Kombat

Best part of this game is the White Zombie soundtrack. The animation is clunky and the characters are very cheesy, but it has it's own charm. When I owned this game when it first came out I had no idea who White Zombie was. Since this game I have been a fan.Read full review...

Way of the Warrior

Awesome game. Lots of moves, fatalities. I love it because they use real human actors, the voice talent is great, funny , and over the top. White Zombie soundtrack is also awesome. This game has it’s own flavor, campy nostalgic feel that works so well. I still play the heck out of this game. Find the way Warrior.

Great game very challenging

This game is very challenging. It's not as easy as you might think it is because it's an older game. The graphics are very good and it is easy to set up, how you want to play and what character you want to be. I am still learning how to do the finishing moves. I like it better than Mortal Kombat. Fun goofy fighting game for 3DO

I know a lot of people don’t like Way of the Warrior,
but I actually like it. I like the sound track by White Zombie and the goofy characters in the game and funny fatalities.

Good and bad all at once!

This game has gotten a lot of hype over the years and for good and bad reasons.

Good: The soundtrack for a fighting game like this is fantastic, what's better then White Zombie when you are ripping someones head off? Also it's bloody and very gory.

Bad: Character animations are just ok. Not many levels and not many fighters along with a not so intuitive fighting style plague this game.

Overall if you are looking for a game to play with your buddies and enjoy hard rock and have a 3DO this game is a blast...for a little while.

Mortal Kombat, just not as fun. . .

Welcome to Way of the Warrior, a novel first try at fighting games from the developers of Crash Bandicoot. This game is one of the best fighting games on the 3do but that isn't saying much. The control is imprecise compared to classics like SF2 Turbo or Samurai Showdown. The graphics are nice in still pictures but in motion, it isn't near as pretty. The soundtrack is good featuring White Zombie but other than that, this is definitely not a great game.Read full review...

A fun MK clone

Everything wrong with Mortal Kombat is present in Way of the Warrior but you are not interested because it shares the same flaws. No way! You are interested because it has an all White Zombie sound track and it was made by the creators of Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, Uncharted, and The Last of Us. For a low-budget MK clone it handles well and it will keep you amused in between sessions of Road Rash and Gex. While this should be on any collector's list remember that it is not made of precious metal nor is the box/manual printed on paper from an endangered/extinct tree species so do not get suckered in to paying the ridiculous amounts that some of these nostalgia price gougers are demanding.Read full review...

Way of the warrior 2?

I loved this game for several reasons. The sound track was by white zombie and it really rocked.
The game had a ton of hidden guys and stages.
The graphic were very nice for the time the only real problem for this game was the controls --the moves were hard to do everytime --maybe if the controler was a little better.

Still after all these years the game left me wanting more and i would love to see a Way Of The Warror 2.
