Superb war film.. thought provoking..

We Were Soldiers is a dramatic retelling of a true life event. It tells the story of the birth of Americas helicopter bourne troop unit. A unit meant to get into an area quick, and secure it. Except the first place they are sent has a lot more enemy troops than first thought, and as they go in quick, and lightly equipped, they are unprepared to defend themselves properly.

Having seen this Film many times before, i can say it is a must see film ! Mel Gibson is excellent as Hal Moore. I think it is very well made and would be an excellent addition to anyones DVD Collection.Read full review...

Well worth watching

I had this film recommended to me by a friend as I have recently returned from a holiday in Cambodia and Vietnam.
It is a great film depicting one of the first major battles of the Vietnam war, very graphic, gory detail but a good storyline throughout. Mel Gibson plays the lead and directed the film and though not one of his better roles he still carries it through well.
Stunning location shots with great camera work made the film great for me.
