A Great Read

A comprehensive description of the battles and strategy of the Peninsular War, told in a very readable way. A must if your interests are in the war itself or an insight into Wellington or just a general interest in British ( & French) Military history.
One slight criticism is that I would have liked some more detail in the map or separate maps for each major phase.

An excellent book for an insight to the complications of war at that time in history.

Having read most of the Sharp novels by Bernard Cornwell where he mentioned this book as providing detail and interest which was useful in compiling the many stories in his books.
I have found it very interesting and enjoyable and an easier read than expected. Read full review...
