Didn't work at all
I took a chance buying it as "refurbished" and I knew that, but I've bought refurbished things before and had no problem. But this external hard drive doesn't work at all. It's making a clicking noise, that's all. Not showing up on my laptop. I'm really disappointed, I hate having to return things. ☹ I've had it for a couple weeks now just laying on my desk and just now got to trying to use it. Wish I had sooner. Very nice Hard Drives!
This is the 2nd or 3rd hard drive I've purchased from the seller. It comes with a warranty (which was sent by eBay), and so far the drives have been functioning flawlessly. It's a shame they don't offer the primary color drives anymore (except for the "clunky" oversized squarish drives), but these are a nice alternative for my collections. 4 *TERABYTES* of storage for $100? This thing gets its power from its USB cable, too! I'm amazed that it comes from a well-known brand. A Must Get For Many Options.
It is pretty good, because I use it to put my movies on it and then connect it to my smart TV and watch the movies. I also use the 2TB WD hard drive to load all our family video's and pictures to then view on the TV as well. They are very compact and it actually fits on the bracket of my TV wall mount and plugs right into the USB outlet on the back. These little guys are perfect for for what I just described. Plus they can also be good for backing up computer or transferring your files from your computer to another persons computer as it don't need an electrical outlet, as it powers up from the USB.
