Fine Binding, Good Story

The White Lama is a series of 6 books published by Humanoids Publishing.

The story is sequential and must be read from beginning to end.

The volumes themselves are a gorgeous example of bookbinding. Heavy,
glossy covers with richly colored glossy illustrated pages. The volumes
are large and uniform.

The story itself is fairly good, somewhat reminds me of the brilliant animated
series Avatar.

The original price for each of the original volumes was astonishingly modest,
at about $15 per.

Humanoids Publishing put out a bevy of the finely-bound, richly illustrated
large hardback graphic novels in its day.

Their masterpiece was the Sanctum series which, in addition to the glossy
hardbound covers featured huge two-page end papers. Alas, after the first
two brilliantly-illustrated and intriguingly-written volumes they dropped the format
and the third, concluding volume, is only available in a smallish paperback.
