Who Killed Pixote? (DVD, 2004)

Treat this film as a documentary.

In 1980 Fernando Ramos da Silva was chosen to play the leading role in the film `Pixote`. This film documents the time after making the film `Pixote` Unable to get further acting work he ended back on the street in a life of petty crime only to have his life abruptly ended in rather a nasty ending.
It is a great pity that Hector Babenco did not have a hand in making this film as it is nothing like the standard of the first film which had some flaws insomuch it was a little bit too gritty.
On the subject of Hector Babenco look at another film he made `At play in the fields of the lord I found this more to my taste but it is differ cult to get the last copy I got was from the Spanish market with English subtitles.
This particular film `Who killed Pixote` is region 2 and with English subtitles. .Read full review
