Addictive and Frustrating
This was my first PSP poker game, and so I don't have any points of comparison to the graphics and gameplay. Both seem OK to me, although the cards are extremely tiny - sometimes difficult to tell the difference between a spade and a club.
I can say that load times in and out of games seem to be longer than they should be, and until I found you could hit the "X" button to move the in-game action along, it was "fold and nap". I like the career concept which works pretty well except for being forced at times to play a particular type of game that you would rather not. It does expose you to all sorts of varieties of poker - this is not simply another Texas Hold Em game. It does NOT teach you how to play properly, or give any worthwhile hints to the newbies.
I have encountered numerous frustrating lockups, both during the course of a tournament, and a couple times at the final table. The mfr knows about this bug, otherwise they wouldn't have a cheat to get you past it. Your player suffers as a result of using the "skip" cheat, as potential skill points are lost, as well as the "trinkets" that you would win had you finished and won the tourney.
For all it's flaws, I keep playing it anyway. If you are deciding between this title and another poker title, you might want to give the other a close look.Read full review...
a great game,but plagued with a bug,on both copies i have bought
I have used two diffrent models of psp as well as two versions of this game and they both have issues with freezing up and not playing. I take great care of my games as well as my systems and accessories and am left thinking there is some sort of error with this title and advise this before buying since the odds are slim this is an isolated case. When the game does work however,it is quite fun with great options and anexpectedly fun leveling up system to develop your gambler. I wish it would have stopped freezing up because it really is a fun poker game.Read full review...

Why Average?

Fun Game
I've had the game for a day, but i have been playing it nonstop. It is a very fun game. the graphic are ok, get to create a character like yourself. Many things to unlock. Best PSP Poker Game Ever!
This is the best PSP poker game I have played (The PC version is just as good).I have never had it lock up.Sounds like a memory stick problem. The players in this game really know how to play and test you at every decision.

Dont waste your money.
I originaly bought this game through Best Buy. I played in for a couple of week until I got into a 100+ person tournament. I was able to get to the final 8 person table and the stupid game LOCKED UP. I researched the problem, the game manufacturer's only fix was a Game Cheat code. SHOOT, if I wanted to cheat I didn't need their help. IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY.Read full review...
PSP-World Championship Poker 2: Featuring Howard Ledere
This is an excellent game to play on-line against other players or by your self. It is a very good teaching tool on playing Poker and other card games. Hours of fun!!
Decent, but slow
Pretty good game. I did not have problems with it locking up at all.
The pace of the game was a bit slow, but worth a try. You need to pay attention to learn the other players' habits.
