This is really good quality.
I bought this soldering station because I wanted a reasonably cheap one that didn't have any features I didn't need such as a heat gun, etc. When I first got this, I immediately turned it on, and to my surprise, when dialing in the temp you want, once you get it set, the thing will actually show the rising/falling temperature as it heats up/cools down.
I am overall extremely impressed because before I had a cheap soldering iron that had no accurate temperature control or stand. I love the tip cleaner but never have been a big fan of the sponge technique for cleaning tips so i just use a generic wire brush cleaner then before I put the iron up, I dip the tip in the cleaner that comes with the set and that seems to work well.
If anything happens that I think you should know about in the future, I will update this review, but so far all is good and I don't see this breaking anytime soon.

Not good
Tips are not made to last I soldered 3 connections and the tip went in the garbage can. Tried to order more and says out of stock.
Went to buy from lhs and tips dont fit it so now its just a paper weight can't use at allRead full review

Versatile and packed with features.
This model 3020 has all the features I need to accomplish a wide range of soldering tasks. The unit heats up quickly, and the digital temperature reading makes it simple to adjust for various applications. I was able to pick up my unit at a great price online. Pros outweigh the Cons.
pro - heats up fast, handy solder holder on the side, 10-minute standby, goes to warm, does not turn off. Small comfortable easy to use iron, good tips, like the steel wool for cleaning tip, Temperature indicator is a nice feature but not sure how accurate it is, Price is very reasonable.
con - iron cord connects to the front. Does get in the way. I use a strain-relief to bend cord under the solder spool (side of the power supply). Soldering iron should have a plug instead of hard wiring. The plug should be on the side or back. I would give it five stars if it wasn't for the iron connection in the front.
Overall an excellent soldering iron station. The Pro's out weight the cons. Read full review

X-Tronic soldering station.
I love this soldering station. Especially the helping hands attached to it. This really makes life easy for me when I’m working on a small board and I can use the helping hands to position it right in front of the station, everything within reach. I keep two rolls of solder on the holder. And the switch in the front to see the temperatures in both Celsius and Fahrenheit is a real convenience. In Two Words - BUY IT!
I am a professional work-at-home electronics technician with 40+ years of experience including 5 years as a top level Avionics Technician at a licensed FAA repair station. My current work requires soldering anything from tiny 26 gauge wire to soldering directly to the steel chassis of vintage car radios.
To meet the changing demands, I generally use 3 to 4 different irons - a 30 watter for small stuff, a 50 watter on a variac for heat adjustability working with larger 16 gauge stranded wire, and finally a Weller 80 watter to power its way through mild corrosion and solder wires to a steel chassis. The 80 watter gets so hot that I keep he tip immersed in a solder pot to keep it from burning up.
Based on the many favorable reviews on the X Tronic, I purchased two of them. I have to say that this is the most versatile iron I've ever used - and that includes all the fancy stuff available in the Avionics shop. The tip is small enough for even occasional SMD repairs, yet can be adjusted hot enough to solder wires to anything except the heaviest steel chassis I run into.
The iron is ESD safe, VERY comfortable to hold for long periods of time, and the included tip cleaner material is a very welcome improvement in my work habits. Time will tell how long it lasts, but this iron comes with an amazing 3 YEAR warranty. Considering the price and how well it does the job, I would gladly pay to replace this iron once a year if necessary.
Another nice feature is that it "goes to sleep" if not used for awhile, and fires right back up when you wipe the tip on the sponge (sensing the sudden change in temperature). The digital readout makes it easy to preset different amounts of heat, and it's only VERY rarely that I have to go to the Weller 80 watter because of its huge tip which powers it way through anything.
Hobbyist, engineer or pro technician with a constant heavy workload - you cannot possibly go wrong purchasing this iron. It is AMAZING, with an unbelievable price to match. I've been using it for about a month, and now my other irons are just getting in the way. Great job!Read full review

It does the job
This certainly isn’t the best out there, but for what you get it’s not too shabby. I would not purchase this for professional soldering jobs. The quality is just not that of Hakko or Weller. I’m using this mainly for my RC hobby soldering jobs. I like that the temp is adjustable and also very bright and easy to read. It came with flux and a tip cleaner too which is a must have to keep your soldering iron in ship shape. The “helping hands” are a nice feature (if they worked) however, they aren’t very stable at all and just flop and rotate downwards. I tried to tighten the little nuts but they do nothing to keep the hands still. Not that big of a deal tho for the price. Overall I would recommend you really can’t beat it for the price.

A complete soldering station for small jobs
This a complete soldering station for doing small jobs. The soldering iron heats quickly, and both solder and support arms for holding small work are conveniently placed. The entire package is small a light weight. It takes very little space on the workbench, and can be put away in a drawer if you're not using it for a while.
If you are going to be doing a lot of work on large circuit boards or repairing electronics, it might be a good idea to get a larger "professional" soldering station. For small jobs, it's great.Read full review

Very good product for the money.
At first I was scepticle on getting the soldering station, but after looking for good soldering stations for a good price online this one hit every review top 10 list. I'm used to working with those cheap 10-20 dollar pencil irons you get from local stores but as my projects get more complex and contain more sensitive parts I needed something that could deliver a much better soldering experience. The pencil irons I was used to using did not have a set heat up time and often times would not be hot enough to melt solder and would make me wait. Now for the actual review. The price was more than I planned to spend on an iron but it was still priced much better than most stations with similar setups and features. However, after purchasing the soldering station I was truly impressed. The flux it comes with is good quality, the brass sponge works wonders and the iron itself is sturdy. When I turn it on, it takes about 15-20 seconds to get to temperature but after that it takes about 10 seconds to go up in temperature which is alot faster than a pencil iron. A big bulky soldering gun might beat it in speed but those things are so heavy and hard to work with and are almost useless for precision where this station is not. It is super light weight, feels comfortable in your hands and it gets hot quick. The temperature control dial is a little sensitive so if you touch is by accident it will adjust the temperature a few degrees. The iron holding stand is great because I can solder, spong the tip and stick it in there and the tip won't touch anything. Makes it easier than a lay down stand that you get with pencil irons. It's quality is good and you have plenty of reach between the power cable and the iron's cable. The solder roll holder on the side is a super bonus feature to me because I'm constantly picking up my rolls and cutting or melting some solder off so having it on a roll means it's alot easier because I can grab the roll, spin it and I've got solder. No more setting the iron down to locate the roll of solder then pulling it out and then picking up the iron to melt it apart. The rubber feet it comes with work well, it doesn't slide on my desk at all which is great because I've been burned a few times from irons sliding around on me. This one stays where you put it.
Over all,
It has great features, it's very well made, they actually put though into the design, it comes with alot of stuff for your money, it has features that I haven't seen on any others and it gets hot very quickly. The heating element and tips are replaceable so it's a long term iron and not a throw away for sure. Might buy another as a gift for a friend who solders alot.Read full review
