Perfect solution
I thought I had ruined the boot handle of my Qashqai by snapping it off with my heavy hands...and thought we were in for either an expensive repair or some kind of bodge job.
After doing a bit of research, I discovered that it's actually a pretty common problem, and then I came across the X8R repair kit. After reading the positive reviews and watching a video on how easy it was to do, I quickly placed my order. It was delivered the next day. Following the instructions on the video made the job very easy, and the result is perfect. The boot handle always felt a bit wobbly (before snapping). Now it looks as good as new and feels more secure than it ever has. I would definitely recommend this product, and would definitely purchase again (although I'm sure I will never need to!)Read full review...

Great fix, with super clear instructions.
Great idea for a company to make easy to use and high quality fixes for common car issues... This boot handle is great and clear to install.
High quality product with free delivery and instructions, I was quoted £120 just for the unpainted part from the dealership. This reinforces the fixing method, getting rid of the old one.
Easy to line up, to glue etc, the hardest part is removing the interior panel and electrical plugs without snapping plastic 😉Read full review...

Easy fix
These 3d printed repair clip holders feel more substantial than that of the manufacturers. Easy to fit due to the locating groove on each new clip holder. Video of repair procedure is available on YouTube wich is great for those doing something like this for the use time. Only time will tell, but so far so good. I'm impressed with the acetone to fuse the repair panel to the boot handle, it takes a good hold.Read full review...

Fantastic solution for the boot handle problem
Fantastic solution for the boot handle problem on the Qasqai. You tube instructions are really good and easy to follow. Looks like new after and is as solid as it has ever been.
Nissan dealer quoted £800 to replace and also advised it would probably go again if you are not careful!
Hardest part of replacing was removing the tape residue which was holding the handle on before!
£17 to fix this big problem on the Qasqai is a bargain!

Elegant solution to an awful design flaw
Having had multiple clips snap due to the freezing temps, I looked at a replacement only to find a general design fault with the tailgate handle on the Qashqai. Instead of paying £70 from Nissan for an entire replacement, with the weak clips, the clip kit from X8R is perfect solution to fix your existing handle (especially if it's colour-coded) and remove the design fault of the original handle.
The provided instructional video was very easy to follow, making it a task you're not having to pay labour charges to have fixed, you're able to do it yourself. The clips have a cut out in the corners, making it easy to identify which clip goes where and sits perfectly without the need for guess work or marking out.
Amazing solution to a pretty awful design, worth the money and it's easy enough to undertake. It took me around 2 and half hours, including the time to allow the acetone to set the clips into place.Read full review...

FANTASTIC
Ordered this as sounded the best replacement and easiest to fit after searching eBay. Glad I did as was no bother fitting them. Boot lid is stronger than with original clips!! Definitely recommend this product.Read full review...

Excellent product with first class support.
After looking around at all options to fix my broken Nissan Qashqai boot handle this product was worth a try. It arrived the next day and using the online instructional video I was easily able to effect a repair which was very cost effective. However, I am an ex mechanic so I was familiar with the ins and out of removing panels etc. (I didn't have any clamps though and they were about £6 each at my local DIY. I needed about 6. We have a J Mart outlet in my home city and they sold excellent quality clamps @ £2:99 for 3, bargain). The repair brackets that come in the kit are chemically 'plastic welded', using the acetate supplied so are not just glued. It was a cold day when I repaired the handle so I rested the handle on a radiator so that the weld would 'take' more effectively, see photo.
The repair kit is well thought out and the repair video is excellent.
Very pleased

A good fix for a common problem
When the boot handle on our qashqai became very loose I didn't want the expense of a whole new handle so thought I would give this try.
I choose this type of repair clips as they have notches to align on the back of the handle so you can't position them incorrectly.
I took care to remove all traces of old clips and paint before bonding with the acetone and they seem to be well attached
Once installed back on the car the handle aligns very well and is a huge improvement on the previously wobbly handle.
My only issue is that there are 6 original fixings (5 bolts ÷ 1 clip), and this repair kit only replaces the 2 outer ones on each side.
Therefore, if your handle (like mine) has the 2 centre clips broken, these are not fixed with this kit. As this is the point at which the handle is lifted in use, it doesn't feel 100% solid. Good but not great.
Perhaps an improved kit could address this?Read full review...

An inspired invention.
Full marks to X8R for a brilliant cheap solution to a potentially expensive problem. This was the second time that my handle broke off. The first time I had Nissan fit a replacement but this time I tried very nervously to fit it myself. I need not have worried. The instructions were simple to follow and I could not believe how easy it was to fit. Apart for saving lots of money I had an enormous sense of self achievement.
The replacement part had been very well thougtout and well researched. It fitted perfectly. The acetone instead of glue was an inspired solution.
I hope that kieran and his team continue to work on solutions like this - repair things rather than replacement.
Well doneRead full review...

Great product
This is a great product, especially if there is nothing wrong with the actual boot tailgate itself. To replace the tailgate your looking at £40 + and then the cost of getting it sprayed to match your car. We just needed the clips replacing. It was so easy to use and the instructions were clear and easy to understand. My only critique would be to make it clear what other tool you will require. It said you needed clamps which we didn't have but we used clothes pegs which worked fine!Read full review...
