Great Converter, would love GUI utility though.

Great converter. Easy to set up, is very compact and does not harm the keyboard in any way. The best solution for anyone who just wants a simple converter for their Model F keyboard. The only complaint I would have is the fact that it is somewhat annoying to alter the layout. There is no GUI utility to do this, and it is all done with programming. Xwhatsit converters have a GUI utility (granted, they do require soldering experience and can also damage the keyboard). Sometimes you need to do this. For instance, if you use a Mac, then you would need to change the number pad on the XT and AT models F into a navigation cluster if you wanted arrow keys because the num lock key does not work on Macs.Read full review

Plug and play for your Model F

Handy little device If you need to convert an old XT model keyboard. The price is a little steep, but there is alot packed in to this tiny adapter. You can download software that allows you to fully program your keyboard including macros. The build quality seems nice, but only time will tell. Overall, this is probably your best option for converting your old Model F which is undoubtedly the best keyboard ever made all things considered.Read full review

Works as advertised

Works as advertised for my IBM Model F on both Mac and PC. Configuration file format took a while to figure out, and it's not as flexible as QMK, but it gets the job done.

Effortless

After researching ways to get my xt protocol model f keyboard to work on a modern system, i got a little disheartened. I thought I would have to spend the better part of a week soldering and wiring a converter to something like ps2. Stumbling across soarers converter, i was a little skeptical since it looked so lightweight and small. I'm happy to say that it works perfectly as a protocol converter and didn't need any extra work from me. it works exactly as well as it says it does and is well, well worth the price.Read full review

Breathed new life into my old keyboards

I had had to put away my old Northgate keyboards since the key-mappings conflicted with my Chromebooks, but I can use them again thanks to the Soarer adapters. Brilliant!
