This thing is awesome! You hook this little baby up between your vhs to dvd burner and either a dvd player or vcr. Depending on what you want to copy. I've burned my rare vhs tapes to dvds and my rare dvds to disc. Really easy to use and I'm pumped it work's so well. Copy protected no problem. with my equipment it works with light blinks all through recording...

They need to make it super compatible with all equipment.
It seems very touchy on my stuff. Don't know what is wrong,
because some of the comments say it worked perfectly for them.
Maybe the company could recommend the BEST Equipment to use with GREX unit.

Perfect for Macrovision-Protected VHS Tapes

Perfect for duplicating and/or digitizing Macrovision-protected VHS tapes. I used to use an older RXII stabilizer for this purpose, but it seems to have burned out. Wanting to try something newer, I decided to give the Grex a try, and it is the best stabilizer I have ever used. It will duplicate and/or digitize any tape
I throw at it, and it also runs off AC wall power, which I much prefer compared to the RXII using a 9-volt battery, because it never runs out of power, and I don't need to have 9-volt batteries handy for when it runs out of juice, since it just runs off wall power! Great product. Works as expected.

Excellent. Have a stabilizer that’s at least 20 years old and still works, but the cord is permanently attached and is getting very touchy.

Was hoping the Xdimax Grex 7.4 would be a good replacement and it is great. Quality seems good, but buying 2 more as spares anyway.

I wish it had an on/off switch so I could leave it plugged in all the time, but it’s not a problem... just a suggestion.Read full review

Great little product!

I now have 2 of these and, while I'd never buy one at full price, getting them for about half that on Ebay is worthwhile. I've had other similar products, but this is the only one that has ALWAYS worked as described. I've used it on multiple machines and with both VHS and DVD's format and it's worked like a charm. Achieves the desired results to good effect

Easy to connect either RCA or Svideo in from source and out to destination, simply plug and play.
To date I have only tested the product between a set top box and HDD DVR. I have not tried it between any other devices yet. I have achieved the desired outcome which was to record a TV program for later viewing. My set top box does not have a built in HDD and for some reason my DVR wasn't interpreting the signal. So this product enabled me to record that program easily.

The final image quality in the recording is noticeably degraded compared to the source image. I expected better image quality. However this does not adversely effect the viewing of the recorded image. Just something you have to live with, this is the only reason why I didn't give 5 stars.
If you are a Non US buyer watch out for the power supply provided with the product. It was only suitable for US mains power. I had to purchase a 9V power supply separately to make the product work.

Works fine to remove Macrovision from set-up boxes. Good quality. Doesn’t take much space.

The AC/DC-converter is though not designed for the european market. But it’s of less importance.
