The most versatile wah ever
I'v tried couple of wahs, a classic Cry Baby, Fulltone, Cry Baby mini, and some other less known brands, but this thing is the best both sound and feature-wise. You can dial basically any sound you want (really mellow or aggressive and everything in between), the size is perfect (Fulltone was too big, Cry Baby mini too small) - you can fit a pedal above the wah on the pedalboard but you can't accidentally switch it on (like it happened to me many times with the Cry Baby mini) because the XW-1 is higher than the the mini. ALSO it has a led light (I can't understand why ALL the wahs don't have that) AND an output buffer which makes it possible to use it before a vintage fuzz. All in all: just the perfect wah (at least for me). Maybe a bit pricey, but worth every cent (mine was a demo piece so it was a bit cheaper). Highly recommended! Read full review...

Amazing variety of usable sounds.. from vintage to modern wah tones.
Sound great... most wah sounds you have heard on recordings or can imagine dialing in are available here. Old 70's porno funk or Zeppelin's "Dazed and Confused" are right there waiting for you. Kick in the gain and access as snarling or rude a tone as you can handle. Slash is in there... so is Tony Iommi.
Stated as True Bypass.. although oddly, the bypass in this unit actually seems to make my gear sound better.. even when it is off. Unit is quiet until you throw ultra high gain stuff at it, but I don't use noise gates, so that may not be anything unusual. Sounds different with different guitars and amps. Works with the character of the gear you're running it into. Somewhat smaller footprint also makes it pedal friendly without feeling like you're stepping on a toy. I had the Crybaby Mini with Fasel inductor and True Bypass.. it was too small and the sounds available here smoke it. Not to diss the Crybaby..it DID sound good.. It just didn't work for me as well as this. More vintage sounding than a Vai Bad Horsie (I and II), and more authentic sounding than my Vox Clyde McCoy Reissue I had a few years back. Not a cheap wah, clearly, but worth the green if you have it. Will your audience be able to tell the difference between this and a Crybaby? Probably just the guitarists... if they haven't been drinking. lolRead full review...

The bees knees
It has to be said that it's expensive but it's got all the features at the highest quality. The action on the treadle is perfect for my foot and the reduced size is fantastic. The forward click on and off works well, although the light should be on the other end of the pedal so you can see it. The tone adjustment settings are genuinely useful and the sound is just heavenly - smooth, controllable and articulate. It's also extremely quiet, no nasty hissing in the background, strangely quiet. My 70s Morley has some great sounds but the Xotic does a whole lot more and doesn't require endless adjusting.Read full review...

Thank you Xotic for this product
All I can say is wow! I never owned a wah pedal before, and this thing sounds like the holy grail. I tried my friends crybaby and this unit shouldn’t even be compared as it’s not even in the same quality or sounds it can produce. I make sweet music in all styles with this thing. It will never leave my board.Read full review...

Xotic wah
This is a high end pedal! There are multiple controls to shape the wah you desire. It can do all different sweeps, quietly. The on off is a tiny click. It’s got an led and 9v dc power jack. It’s all the wah any guitarist needs. For a little over 2 bills it’s worth every cent.Read full review...
