Two died at under 12 months old

Had a few of these and two died within a year. First one had a dead cell, and we put this down to chance and/or maybe we had abused it so didn't do anything about it. Then we had another one go which was fitted to a small engine. Company refused to refund as it wasn't fitted to a car, and as we hadn't filled out a test report when fitting - who does??

Varta (Bosch) & Yuasa make the bast lead acid car batteries.

Battery came well packaged, and it's been in my car for 2 weeks now. I did some research and it seems to say that German company Varta made the best car batteries, and Bosch were rebadged Varta. But then Japanese Yuasa make batteries for Boeing Aircraft (yes I know some of them caught fire :-D ) and were just as good. This one was £90 the Varta £95. Also this has a little window in the top that changes colour 'Green, Red or White' I think? to let you know it's state of Charge. From my research it seemed that Exide, Lucas or Halfords are not as good. Most important figures are the Amp hours, and Cold Cranking Amps, more is better.Read full review
