Pretty good for the price

Bought this to test and set up a replacement CCTV unit which had failed at our church.
Very easy to connect up and test the unit. Have been monitoring day and night for over a week so far. It appears fine and easy to install. Lots of directional movement for getting the best angle. Image quality is not great, unable to adjust focal distance. The IR intensity could do with a bit of adjustment. A bit too much glare over the field of view. Will have to spend more to get better features and image. It's excellent value for the price that it is. It's gone up a couple of quid since I bought it.
Adequate!

Good basic camera, terrible installation

This is a neat little aluminium-housed camera with a good picture quality and a choice of video standards and settings. 12V power drain is 60mA in daylight and 500mA when the IR LEDs are on. The big problem with it is installation: the supplied cable is only 0.6m long and the set-up joystick control is moulded into this at 0.5m from the camera. Unless you finalise the camera set up before installing it, and have a foolproof method of waterproofing the BNC and DC power connectors or can pass the cable immediately through a 1" hole in the wall, this severely restricts your choice of installation location.
The supplied user manual is a bit minimal, as usual with such products. A curious undocumented feature is that in Auto IR mode at dusk and dawn the camera switches between day and night settings at about a 2-second rate for at least quarter of an hour, which is distracting and messes up motion detection. Presumably no hysteresis in the daylight sensor.

Excellent quality, value for money

This product is really good value for money, other cameras of similar quality are usually 2,3 or even 4 times the price of this one.
I got one of these cameras to try it out and I was that impressed with it I bought a second one to fill up my empty channels on my cctv, I now have full cctv cover around my house.
I was particularly impressed with the night vision, so bright and clear.
The camera has a good wide area of view with full colour in the daylight.
If you are looking to add cameras to your cctv system I would highly recommend this camera.

Good cams with a few niggles

On the good side it’s an excellent cctv camera with a nice clear picture, i have also found that it is able to show a colour picture at night as there is enough ambient light. On the down side the plastic cam holder/mounting is a bit on the fiddly side if your at the top of a ladder trying to get all the hits to go into place and getting the lead to move into the right place so you can point the cam in the right direction is a bit of a task. Saying that it is good quality and with the plastic holder its not likely to seize up like the metal holders i have on other cams, so any maintenance would be a lot easier on these, how long the plastic will last before disintegrating I cant say. They also have a joystick control on the lead that allows changing the cam settings so it can be used on many different cctv systems making it quite universal, this i would suggest you set up before you get up a ladder as it is not easy to see the cam menu to change settings when balancing and looking at a menu 20 foot up as i found out. A good product that i would purchase again. Read full review...

Great product

This was a replacement camera for a swann system. All I can say is that its good build quality and a good clear picture on screen. Easy to set up and the one I got had more settings to change if I wanted to. The company is also very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Would definitely recommend. Read full review...

Good Quality on a DIY Budget

When buying a budget CCTV camera, you're still looking for good specs of 3000TVL, which equals 1080 HD, which gives you a good 2 megapixel final picture. I've now upgraded all four of my older 1.0Mp cameras, and boy, what a difference. Sharper picture on both day and night vision, wider field of view without much loss on the distance. If you're going to install you're own system, use these cameras.Read full review...

Electronics good case not

This is a dificult one, the camera it’s self is good quality, but the body construction holding the electronics is a faliure, I have four of these cameras two I have have already thrown away, one is still in it’s box and the other is outside on my property, this one being used has already failed once within a mater of months from water ingress I have taken it down opened the case to dry out the electronics which were wet, I have put it back together and sealed the case as best I could, but it’s clear damp and water is still geting into the case, so although I sealed what I thought was the problem it appears it hasn’t cured it, when dry the picture is clear and good, night vision is not quality.Read full review...
