Zaxxon 3-D

In the mid 1980's a battle between two video game gaints, Sega and Nintendo, caused many innovations to occur in video game history. Nintendo blocked Sega by causing all of their clients to make games only for the NES. Sega, on the other hand, had already broke through the market earlier with their own line of arcade games such as Frogger, Zaxxon and many others. Both made games for the Atari first, then came out with their own console. Sega had a more powerful console and made what they called 3-D games. A handful of games were made, then the production was stoped with the failing market against the Victor Nintendo and the switch to the more compact Sega Master System II. The game is a good game, but you must own a Sega Master System I because the second and very rare third version do not have a card port for the 3-D glasses. A power base converter for the Genesis will also work, but a Game Gear Converter or Rare Sega Compact will not work due to having no Card Insert port. The game is a good if you can find a working pair of 3-D glasses. My only complaint is the lack of different levels and some times it is hard to tell at what angle the ships fly at you. You may get hit with out believing you got hit and sometimes it is hard to shoot them from a distance. If you are will to pay out for the glasses, this is one you may spend a few hours playing. Then, it will probably be put up in your closet some where and never to be played again.

Sealed an good shape.

Great game for it time nothing compared to it. 3D effect, there no other system that does it.

Makes your eyes bleed, but a fun shoot em up nonetheless

It's a Sega master system games and it's in 3-D what more could you need? But generally the ascetics of the game is far from appealing and the gameplay it self isn't terrible but as long as you could find this game fairly cheap might as well give it a go seeing there is not too many 3-D enabled games for the SMS.Read full review...

3D Heaven.

Very fun Classic 3D Arcade shooter from seag. Zaxxon was old school gaming at its best. This game is great, problem is finding the SMS 3D glasses.
