Works every time indoors or out. I've been using this product for some years as ants invade my house every April/May. Strategically placed taking care not to contaminate I place the powder around edges of carpets or in a corner where it seems the ants are coming in. They hate the stuff and once they encounter a whiff you can be sure they won't come near again.

Soory, black ants continue to live.

Maybe other ants are fine, but black ants continue to live well. I would not recommend buying this product.
