great value at a great price
the zmodo camera is a great way to do front door security. The HiDef camera has all the zoom in resolution you might need. The App interface went quick and painless once installed. Since I live on a busy street, the only two faults I've found is the talkback volume to those outside at the door seems quite low in its volume, looses being heard over traffic noise from a single car. The only other fault I could find is that there seems to be no way to monitor this camera from a pc or laptop, where I have "T's" of hard drive room!
The speaker on the camera produces a very low volume - with no way I can find to adjust the volume. You need a volume control, and maybe consider an external speaker jack for better output volume. As for the computer monitoring the camera, YOU NEED THIS! The interface to smart phones is awesome, but I would prefer to have master control of camera settings from my laptop where I could (if I want to) record months of video 24/7/365!
the video alarm and record settings are about right. The sound detection would be great if it had a adjustment for sensitivity. Cars lights hitting the front of house sets off both sound and video alarms. Read full review

Remotely monitor your home, rooms, etc.
I set mine up outside, put in a plug from my light, needed to install a network extender (this gave me extension for my other network connected items, kindle, laptop, phone, etc.), it took just a little to set it up. It records very well, can see 5 houses across the street and most of my front yard right up to my door, as I mounted it just under my eave to protect it from the weather. Color and daytime is great, IR night vision is superb, I checked on my home from FL, using my Android phone. I'm very, very pleased. The only draw-back is that the 2-way audio is delayed by the network relay timing - it's not actually live audio 2-way but there is 2-way capacity, if you can live with the delay. A replacement upgraded unit works much better with the 2-way! Again this replacement lasted about a year and then just locked up and won't network connect. I can't see replacing this every year. Inexpensive starter security cam
I had this camera set up in less than five minutes. The accompanying MeShare mobile app leave a bit to be desired, but it gets the job done. There aren't really any options for storage, at the moment, but apparently paid cloud storage is forthcoming. One does, however, receive motion/sound alerts, and if you log onto the app, you can save video or stills to your phone. Whenever motion is detected, the app automatically saves five stills within about a ten-second interval. I wish the unit itself allowed for for onboard SD card storage, but it does not. All in all, though, this is a capable little camera, and so far it is suiting my needs just fine. At the price, it's hard to complain too much about its shortcomings.Read full review

Good for beginners
This device is great. For the price the quality, functions, and modes are excellent. Night vision, motion detection on point. Sound quality could use a little upgrade. The set back is the need to use proprietary viewing software and the camera's inability to reset itself when it's lost a connection. I even connected it to a wifi plug so I could remote power cycle the device but still had reconnection issues. If you can get past that, you have an excellent device for a good price.Read full review

Quality Video, lacks controls and decent viewing software
Buy anything but ZMODO if you plan to use the supplied viewing software. Does not support enough standards to view on many of the 3rd party camera packages for smart phones or tablets. Motion detection has limited controls and no sensitivity control so if you use this feature you will have 50 photos a day to manage. I see a lot of pictures of squirrels and falling leaves. Good if you want to have a cheap camera and view on supplied viewer for I-Phone, Ipad or Android as it is almost plug and play, set up is very simple, among the best as I set it up in about 1 minute. Windows phone users... too bad, I have yet to find a third party app that can view this camera.Read full review

Great little camera
This is a great little camera, for the price. Easy to mount, and the Zmodo software download was really simple. Image is good, and the audio is adequate.
I relocated it a distance (outside my house) from my router and surprised that the camera worked real well, even without an external antenna.

Maybe.... maybe not
For some reason neither me, my service provider nor zmodo could get this thing to work using my router. ergo, I do not know if I can fairly recommend this product. while others were able to make this work with a snap of their fingers, I spent 10 manhrs working on it...
assuming it worked, it would have been a good value. was it quality? not really. it was pretty flimsy. not sure how long it would have lasted. but hey, for $30 or so you have to expect you're gonna get what you pay for.
the return process was ez and painless. the downside risk to purchase one and try it out is low.

Amazing value for a camera!
I purchased a few of these to put in my places of business that already have CCTV systems.
I just couldn't resist buying these due to the ease of use, mounting and portability.
The sound feature needs a little work, it works well if it is a quiet place like a home I would imagine, but in a warehouse, it is hard to hear what's going on. But I didn't buy these for the sound part of it.
The app is great too! The system has a notification feature if someone walks in the area. You can set this to only do this when you are 'away.' You don't want notifications during regular times when people are walking around.
If anyone is looking for an easy to use camera, get one, even as a baby monitor. for the price, it's incredible! I remember our first baby monitor camera system 12 years ago was stupid expensive, but we had to have it!!
Order one or more of these, you will be glad you did. Like I said, I bought a few, mounted them in 2 separate warehouses and I am happy with the purchase.

Love the picture Quality!
It took some time to set up, but if you use the z link it will set up fast with the zmodo app for phone. The picture quality is great even in dark room. I dont like that is it not battery operated and it has to be plugged in to work. This stops you from putting in higher locations, cord is not long enough, but it is okay for indoor use. Overall does want i want it to do. I just wanted to watch my dog and talk to him when i see him getting bored. :)

Very Good Camera
I bought this for use in the baby's room. It's mounted about 6.5 feet above the outlet.
I initially had an Arlo in the same location but since moved the Arlo outside.
This Zmodo is as good (inside) as the Arlo.
The night vision is excellent; the analytics (motion sensing, audio, alerts, high/low definition...) work very well.
The price of $35 and this camera make even more sense.
Cloud service is a nice, hassle-free option.
I plan on getting another for the garage.
