I have been using this brand sump pump for 25 yrs. It's the only sump pump that I will ever use. Great product. I always keep a new one on the shelf.

Good dependable pump
I am a Plumbing Contractor & this is the pump we install 99% of the time, just replaced the one in my own basement & in was in service over 8 years. When we have a lot of rain (like now) it runs @ least once every minute so it is understandable that the switch gave out, but the pump motor still runs. We could have replaced the switch but being used that heavily we just replaced the pump rather than risk a flooded basement.Read full review

Zoeller M53 sump pump
The Zoeller M53 sump pump is by far the best sump pump out there when needing a most reliable way to get unwanted water out of your basement during extreme wet conditions. I can not be any clearer than that...…….Read full review

Stronger pump than others I have tried.
I have a large underground sump that gathers water from a sink and washing machine as well as groundwater that flows toward the house due to the slope of the yard. The pump has to push the discharge through a pipe horizontally about 25 feet, then vertically another 12 feet, into the main drain line. I have had one of these pumps in operation for about 3 years with no issues, still working as it should. With recent rains the pump was cycling every 20-30 seconds for days in a row. It kept up with the demand. In past years, pumps of other brands and designs worked only for about a year before failing due to the harsh demands of my sump system, underground, never dry, handling dirty water, hot and cold, with detergents, daily. I bought this particular pump to have on hand as a back up but haven’t needed it yet. Read full review
Time for a Upgrade!
Beware!
My original sump pump (40yrs. old) in the home was working fine (or so I thought). It would run and cycle just fine. I thought very little about run time during its normal cycle . During one rain storm I noticed that my SP was running constantly and at times would run steady without shutting off , that is, it could not keep up with the incoming water in the sump! I thought, well its a bad storm.
I originally purchased this Zoeller 1/3 hp SP for a "back-up".or a spare.
I then decided to do a experiment with the normal cycle of water (about 2-4 gallons) and time each. My original SP to the home was 1 minute and 40 seconds for its normal cycle. I then placed the zoeller SP in the well with a flexable hose connected to it and exited the hose to the sewer drain (just for a quick trial).and waited for the sump water to trigger it.
The Zoeller pump , are you ready for this time, 9 seconds !!!!!! I thought that can't be right and monitored the water level for each pump and made sure both were sitting on the floor of the sump. Yep, its accurate ; NINE seconds for its cycle!!!
I changed the home plumbed in pump for the Zoeller that evening. Couldn't recommend this brand enough! JUST because your SP is running, doesn't mean its PUMPING !!! (at least not efficiently).Read full review

Top quality won't let you down.
I bought this pump to be used as a backup for the pump that is currently in use in my basement sump. The original has been in my basement sump for the past six years, has pumped thousands of gallons of water and keeps my basement dry.The new pump is exactly the same as the old one no design changes. This is a top quality pump and i highly recommend it.Read full review

Best pump out there
This is the only sump pump I use anymore. In my application, they last 12-13 years before the switch becomes unreliable. I have always replaced the entire unit. But I've never had a motor fail, so by replacing only the switch you could keep a backup. I also like that these have not changed over the years - allows me to just drop in a replacement and use the same piping. Read full review

A great pump
I installed a Zoeller sump pump in my basement weeper line system in 2010. It is still working great after 14 years, but I realized if it went down during a period of heavy extended rains, I would have a flooded basement. I bought a new one, to replace it. (I'll check the old one out, and have it ready as a backup)
These are excellent pumps, highly recommended by those in the business. As far as I know, made here in the US. Read full review

Zoeller M53
Solid reliable pump. Moreover, it is repairable. The top can be replaced, the switch, too, and the float arm and seal can be replaced. This is cheaper than a new pump. I have two Zoellers. One is one that has had the above parts replaced and a second new Zoeller that is now is my sump. In a failure I can swap out my M53 Zoellers in about 2 to 3 minutes.
If you are going to buy a Zoeller and that is going to be your only Zoeller, then you need to have on hand an extra switch, gasket, and arm & seal kit. Switches will fail over time - maybe in years, but you need to be ready.
Any pump failure I have had has been at night or on a Sunday when I couldn't get a part.
Zoellers are the best. Every plumber I talk to say this is the one to own. Reliable and when trouble comes, easily fixed.Read full review
