Better than expected.

I bought it honestly because I could not believe the pictures and the price, long story short:
I was surprised with the value of this guitar, for $92.00 is about right, was not expecting nothing impressive on the finish but it is more than decent, poly finish on body and neck.

This is what I needed to do to bring it to my liking:
- Rhythm Treble switch nut not tighten. And minor finish scratches around it. Tighten nut and moved lettering disc to cover scratches. Cleaned entire body and neck with polish.
- Tone-Volume Knobs way too lose, removed them and gently forced open pot stems to make a snug fit.
- Fret board, not clean, frets were sticky, I lubricated rosewood and polish frets, used 400 grit sand paper to clean remnants of paint on the edges of the fret board after they removed the tape when painted it.
- Fit Neck to body was low, installed neck shim, 0.5 degrees from stewmac. $7.00
- And the normal set up of your liking.

I saw it this way, I was going to buy a kit that costs the same amount, I saved the time and effort of the paint job, that to me is a major thing given I live in an apartment and don't have enough room to work. I did a couple of kits before and I know the amount of work it takes to get it right, I know, to personalize it, you need the kit, but I was after this color and finish for my collection and honestly, I had fun finishing the guitar and correcting the things to my taste.

It plays really nice. Highly recommended if you have some skills to do as I mentioned above, if you are going to use it right out of the box, and if it is like mine was, you may feel it kind of rough. But can you save some good money if your budget is tight as mine is, and now I have a good guitar I can play and enjoy. Buy It. I am going after the Black sunburst next month!!

Thank you,
Israel G.

Devastated

I ordered the guitar and was so excited to get this beautiful guitar. When it came in the mail, the neck was broken off the body. The screws ripped right out of the wood. I really didn't want to deal with the whole return thing. So I just put the broken pieces of wood back in place best I could and put the screws back in. I can't it so it's just a wall hanger. The mail must have been really rough with it, I've bought many guitars online and the was the first broken one I got. I just felt really frustrated. It's a beautiful guitar tho...Read full review

Great gig guitar-leave the good stuff at home.

For less than the price of a pickup, you have a terrific base to work off of. Yes, there are some finish flaws, mine had a small chip in the neck where it joins the body on the top, a small surface crack in the wood that was painted over, the bass side bridge post insert wasn't all the way down, but the neck was straight, no high frets, electronics worked. Front pickup sounds great, back pickup not as hot, so it's "vintage correct"(the pickup is cranked way down, if I raise it up to where it normally should be, this will probably take care of that). You can literally take it out of the box, tune it up, and go gig with it. Nice solid weight to it, and it sounds good unplugged-which is the key.
Tuners were smooth, finish was really nice-it has that old brown-to-black Gibson finish that they don't do any more, on a nicely flamed veneer top, that looks more believable than most of these flame tops do. Neck feels great, plays in tune all the way up.
This review was written with it out of the box, with NO setup at all, just tuned it. Ran it through SONAR, with a couple of Amplitude presets-clan and overdrive.
Hey, how can you complain about this? Leave the expensive stuff at home, and take this instead. For this price, get 2. Or 3.

Good upgrade-project or start-up guitar

The good: The bean-knob tuners hold the strings in tune, the scarfed slim-neck is straight, the basswood body is light weight, chrome bridge & saddle are functional, the mini-potentiometers are responsive to the paf-styled humbuckers. The humbuckers are not "hot" by any means. The bolt-on neck plate is fitted with a gasket.
The bad: As expected, the frets are sharp in certain areas, needs to be filed/smoothed, dirty fretboard, volume/tone knobs are loose, numerous finish flaw, bumps, discolorations all over the neck & body.

This is not an Epiphone Les Paul, but for the price it is suffice to have as a first guitar, upgrade-project or backup. I hand-filed the frets, cleaned/oiled the fretboard, waxed the neck & body, replaced the tuners with locking tuners, fitted a set of phat-zebra humbuckers (17K), new strings (052), regular size 500K potentiometers & 50s style amber knobs. Also adjusted intonation/saddle/bridge height.

Garbage!

Absolute junk! The truss rod cover was cut down to make it fit, large gap between the fret board and neck pick-up, pick guard was cut to make it fit, neck was not set with the body creating a huge gap as well, tuners were as cheap as cheap can get!

I've received better quality toys in a happy meal.

Nice Guitar!!!

This guitar is well worth the money IMO. It is build well and has nice hardware for a cheap guitar! I changed the strings right away (Ernie Ball 10's) and dropped the action. All I can say is AWESOME!!! I will be putting EMG's in it. I certainly would recommend this guitar!!!Read full review

Highly disappointed

Hardware&pickups mounted 1/4in or more off center, neck overlaps pickup, neck chipped where forced fit which overlaps pickup, toggle not tight slammed into body from shipping, lack of packing, 1/2 gap between strings&neck, keys all mounted out of square, numerous dents, dings and paint chips from lack of packing before shipping, not 23fret but 22, neck has no truss curve and is twisted/warped, frets never buffed, actually cut hand on fret edges just taking it out of shipping box, what a waste of shiney paint!Read full review

Ammoon LP copy

For the price it's a great guitar. Sounds good. Only issue was the Pickup cover became separated from the actual pickup. Was able to get it back correct easily. Needs a good setup out of the box and it'll play just fine.Read full review
