Exactly what I needed for my ZX Spectrum collection

The build quality of this device is superb. The textured plastic case is made in the same style as the original 48k spectrum and its counterpart microdrive and it fits in perfectly in that setting. The two buttons have a pleasant action and are solidly mounted. The menu button is translucent and glows green or red depending on the device status. The SD card slot is the push-push type, and has a satisfying 'click-click' when you engage or disengage the card. The only quibble I've got regarding the build is just the colour stripe is a sticker, not print. It seems solidly stuck down for now, but if and when it peels off, I'll probably re-do the stripes carefully with enamel paint.

I found operation to be very simple. Plugged it in, inserted the pre-configures SD card, powered on and away we go. Hit the menu button, scroll up and down with the arrow keys and select a program. It loads almost INSTANTLY! An absolute joy when compared with the drag of loading from tape. Saving a snapshot is just as easy: Menu button, then press 'S' (found this out by pressing 'H' for help!) I might read the manual at some point, but so far I haven't needed to.

Regarding configuring this device: You Don't Need To! This was the major selling point for me.
I have three ZX spectrums: a 48k a +3 and an Investronica 128 which I picked up from a bric-a-brac shop in Cordoba.
The DivMMC-Future worked perfectly with all three, just plugged it in, powered up and played away, no problems, no fuss, as advertised.

I have in the past, borrowed a similar device from a friend, (uno or enjoy or something, can't remember), but it didn't work at all with my Spanish machine and I needed to change some little switches for it to work with either the 48k or the +3. Given these issues combined with the need to wear an anti-static strap for fear of zapping the exposed electronics, I decided I'd continue loading from tape.

Then I heard about this device, waited until a few 'pioneers' had tried it out because I'm sceptical like that. Saw generally positive reviews and then the clincher was when I saw proof that it'll work with my Inves.

This little beasty, the DivMMC Future, really is what I've been waiting for. My ZX spectrums are now available for casual gaming at a moments notice. Well worth it!

Simply the smallest, the easiest and the most jumperless DIVmmc out there.

The DIVmmcFuture from The Future was 8 Bit has made using my Spectrum a much more pleasant day to day experience. Sure, nothing beats the jeopardy of loading a game from tape, will it or wont it load. Nope, rewind LOAD"" again.. None of this with the DivMMCFuture. Just plug this into almost any ZXSpectrum or clone and you can load games direclly from the handy built in menu. Also you can archive your own collection from tape or disk right on to the the SD card using the built in Snapshot feature.. oh yeah and it has a reset button and .. yes a Kempston joystick port.

One thing you have to remember is that even if you use your Speccy with a Joystick Interface plugged in you still need to clean that Edge connector throughly before. I fell foul of this the first time I used it. Just clean with some IPA or a pencil eraser and your edge connector will be in good shape ready for your DivMMC Future.

I've tested it wilth all my Spectrums, 48k, 48k+, 128k, 128 +2 (grey and black) and +3 and works every time. Has to be said the case and build quality is unlke any of the rivals, I dont own the other DivMMC's but I have seen and used the others and this is by far the best and well polished version.

No messing around with jumpers to switch between your other Spectrums if you own more than one like me. Just Plug n Play like off of the 90's PC's!!

Highly recomended :) :)

Great product, just plug in and go

Very nicely presented product, works well with all the Spectrums I have tried it in (from a slightly flaky issue 1 16K machine to a +3). Even worked on ones which I have had problems with other storage solutions in the past. Only one which it didn't work with immediately turned out to have a bad Z80, when I got that replaced, it worked fine.

Nice and easy to use, nothing to set, just plug in and go.

divMMC Future for ZX Spectrum

The interface does everything it should without too much input from the user, other than loading files on to the supplied SD card. Comes with clear instructions on both the interface and the operating system.

Highly recommended to all ZX Spectrum users
