Magic Jack Go
The new magic jack go works well easy to use. The value should be very good time will tell. I had internet phone service before this sound quality seems to be as good. Only problem I had was unable to set it up over web site I didn't understand what I was doing wrong so I called customer services big mistake. Very difficult to understand person on the other side. A lot of wasted time on hold a lot, this should of been a simple process that took an hour an a half. And if you keep your same phone number it took another 6 to 8 days for the turn around for this an another $20.00 in cost. And for the 911 service if you wish to keep it a cost of around $10.00 a year. That was o.k. but I didn't know this up front, I don't remember reading about these fees before I bought it. But it has worked well so fare. One thing I haven't tried yet is sending a fax over it so it will be interesting to see if it works?Read full review

Not very reliable via computer connection
I am using this magicjack through my computer and find that it often works but is not reliable. Sometimes it won't call a number, sometimes it calls but does not transmit my voice. I previously had a magicjack connected directly through my wired ethernet and it worked great. Using this new one through a computer it does not work nearly as well.Read full review

Fantastic so far!
Was paying $65 a month for landline, No more! Canceled my landline as this works fantastic. Changed my own voice mail message from the one that came with it, plus it has other cool features that I’ll use like voice mail is emailed to me so I can check via my cell phone. Everyone who calls says I sound clear and better than landline. I do think if your internet speed is week it may cause interference but so far that has not been an issue for me. Read full review

Good, but not great
Overall the unit is easy to install and it works fine (you need to have fast internet connection, though).
The only thing that bother is a trick with mandatory signing for 911 service during the registration, which is not free. They just do not give you any option to avoid it and they saying that you cannot cancel it once you signed for it.
So if you have a land line phone and the MagicJack one, you will pay double for the same service. That's a bummer and that's why I give 4 stars to it.Read full review

Economical Phone Service
I do not spend much time on the phone however I do need an active voice line at home. This solved the problem at minimal cost. I do spend a lot of time on the internet so I already have reliable internet service. I paired this device along with a pair of Uniden wireless phones and a used Samsung Galaxy S3 cell phone that uses the FreedomPop 'Free' cell phone service. The S3 has MagicJack Voip and Text application loaded on it. The S3 is also set up to use my home WiFi network so that I have minimal data usage on the FreedomPop network. That gives home phone and cell service with unlimited voice and texts on the same phone number for $35/year --- just can not beat the cost savings.
I have been told by several people that the audio quality is excellent (note: one person did note that audio sometimes broke up). For my part I can not detect any difference in the audio quality from any other service.Read full review

Magicjack Go 2017 Version
Love my Magicjacks (I have two). Just as the old device was, this is ultra easy to activate/install. I've been using magicJack since 2009. Cannot beat them for the price. The old one for this number finally failed so bought a new one.Read full review

Marginal at best- can no longer use my own answering machine system.
I've had repeated problems with the performance since I installed it several weeks ago.
Specifically, I cannot use my own answering machine system anymore. My landline is now automatically defaulted to Magic Jacks' answering service, which I don't like. I tried hooking up my answering machine directly to the MJ device via a split telephone jack, but my answering machine now only works on occasion for some weird reason.
Also, there have been many times that my landline doesn't work anymore - period. No dial tone. And when you call the landline from another phone, your call gets sent right to MJ's voice mail service- the landline doesn't even ring when the call is coming in.
Sure, it's more than 20 times cheaper than paying for phone service through my cable company, but what good is it if it hardly ever works correctly?Read full review

The best phone service anywhere for the price.
This product has been around for over 10 years. I used it in 2007, when it was a Radio Shack only product. Then it was $50. If any body can find a better up front product that is good for 1 whole year, Buy it. Most people don't know that Magic Jack, was around before Skype. But, with out video. VOIP is nothing new. What Magic Jack offers is a one time fee for the year. Today it well cost you less money. The price is around $30. Keep in mind, that's less then what most people pay a month, for Cell service. NO BS, local or long distance fee's. The most difficult thing about Magic Jack, is finding a corded phone. All you do is plug it in your PC's USB port, and what for the software to load up. You can even today try it for 48 hours, before setting up an account. Account is easy. All you need is an E-mail address and a password you can remember. I bought it again after 10 years because I'm tired of Cell service going down where I currently live. This is my back up phone. A small price to pay for peace of mind. Did I mention it only cost's $30, for a whole year. Every person with a Computer/Laptop or Tablet should have one. Just in case.Read full review
