Modern appearance with useful features
The sensor is easy to wire up and has outlets for 2 cables, although I used a single 4 core. For reasons of sealing, there is not much scope for adjusting the mounting screw positions so, if you are a perfectionist, you will have to be accurate with drilling the mounting surface. I was drilling into very hard bricks which made this difficult, resulting in a box that was not quite vertical. The lid, when unscrewed, is held to the box by a thin nylon cord. This could be useful if you are up a ladder to stop the lid being dropped but I found the cord broke very easily. This is only a very minor point though. The time control is a switch with discrete time settings. The plus side of this is you know exactly what time you have selected, the downside would be you can't select anything in between. The light setting is an analogue control. I have not actually used the "current light level" set feature (switch on side) so I can't really comment on that.

Automatic light control
This unit performs very well. Being able to adjust the sensitivity of the light switch-on level is really good. I’m using it with a time clock so cannot comment upon the inbuilt timer function, but have no reason to doubt its performance.

Neat little photocell switch
Easy to fit although the retaining cord is weak and will probably break on you. Cut it before you start. Wiring is a bit fiddly as you can't see the terminal ports, only the screws, but you'll manage.
What I wanted to say here is that this unit does work as a full dusk to dawn sensor (D-D) as well as turning off after 2, 4 or 8 hours if that is how you want to set it. Working well with a 5W LED porch light. Can't comment on durability.Read full review
