A Must For All New pond Owners
I bought this product after I had constructed a fish pond in my garden. I wanted to test the water before I purchased fish to introduce into the pond and then to monitor the water quality from time to time thereafter.
Provided you read the instructions beforehand, the kit is very easy to use. You must take care to use only the correct amount of water and the correct amount of the various chemicals in order to check the water quality. All is easily explained. I found that it was easier to use a syringe to draw water from the pond to test, but this is not essential and a syringe is not supplied as part of the kit.
I won't go into great detail but basically you put pond water in a series of test tubes and add supplied chemicals to individual test tubes which change the colour of the pond water. By comparing the pond water colour with supplied charts you can then determine the pH of the water and the levels of ammonia, nitrates and phosphates in the pond. Very easy to use and gives you peace of mind when you introduce fish.
The cost might seem high at first, but you can use the kit over and over again. I will certainly purchase another when the chemicals in mine are used as it makes good sense to check the quality of your pond water on a regular basis.Read full review
