Activision Classics (Sony PlayStation 1, 1998)

Like the good ol' days!

Most of these games are challenging and just plain fun. My favorite game is Spider Fighter because of the shooting action and fast pace. Laserblast probably activates more memories over all the others, it's fast paced and I love the awesome lightning bolt the flying saucer shoots out. The only problem with Laserblast is the fact it becomes easy to master, zapping silo after silo in order, so this is a tip : aim for the middle silo first and the game will become very challenging, even in Cadet Level! I also love how Activision added authenticity to this collection, you can switch between color and black & white. This option was available in the early 80's because many families had B&W sets around, as I did.You even see a line run up briefly when you quit games, just like when I used to turn off my Atari 2600.
My only complaint in this department is the fact all of the games are "boxed in", meaning there are black borders around them. Activision should have programmed them to fill the screen of a 4:3 TV, it would just look more attractive.
Back to the games, the only ones I don't like are Ice Hockey (hard to maneuver), Boxing (too easy), Cosmic Commuter (too easy), Sky Jinx (WAY too easy), and Pitfall (too repetitive and dull). But even if I only liked one game, it would still be worth the price I paid. After all, every one of these games originally had a price tag of $30 to $50, but the nostalgia is priceless.Read full review

Great replacement disc! Love these games!

I moved a while back and was saddened to find the case for this game but not the disc! I really enjoyed playing the Atari games as a kid (the system belonged to my dad, not me) and was excited that Playstation came out with it's own version! Just like the old days
