Works in bird bath
I wanted some water movement in our inexpensive bird bath. This solar pump works fine, even though the bird bath depth is under 3 inches. I use the fitting for the shortest water spout - sometime just bubbles, sometimes shoots 6 inches. Most of the time, the water stays in the bath (unlike what happens with the higher spouts). I also put a stocking over the intake to act as a filter, as another reviewer suggested. The suction cup didn't stick for very long so it doesn't work to hold the filter in one place.Read full review

solar powered bird bath pump.
my observations...filter on pump clogs easily and must be cleaned daily. am using the pump without any orfices as they spray water out of the birdbath(at least 10 inches tall) and drains bath. this pumps a 1/4 inch stream a few inches and is still "cool". have had the fountian running for a few weeks now. and i still like it. the moving water attracks more birds. it is a chinese product yet it is designed well and functions well so far. the quality of the plastic parts are good. but i dont expect this item to run forever. but once i figured out that it was emptying my birdbath and got used to cleaning my birdbath and the pump filter every morning it worked far better. i do have a older cement birdbath that is 24 inches across. my birdbath is far more attractive to me and the birds. just more labor. im ok with this. carlRead full review

Don't bother with it
I finally got around to setting this up, cleaned the bird bath, added water, set the solar powered unit into the bird bath, gave it plenty of time to charge in the sun. Nothing. Took of nozzle, reset, it would then squirt for a minute then stop. After several attempts over the course of hours, I finally gave up on it. For starters, the pump does not secure to the floor of the birdbath (it would have it totally under water) and no suction. Disappointed.I have used water pumps before and what I see wrong with this is the pump should be unattached and connected by a small hose to the unit (thus maybe making it able to stay on the bottom of the bird bath and keep the unit where you want it to float. At any rate I would not recommend purchasing this.Read full review

Solar Fountain
This product is amazing! We have a small, outdoor fish pond and it provides solar powered water movement to promote oxygen in our pond to keep the fish healthy, algae at bay, and the water stays cleaner as a result. You never have to mess with batteries or plug it into an outlet, it works whenever the sun is out. Highly recommend this fountain!!!Read full review

after 1 month in our bird bath and a sunny day it just will not pump
I clean the bird bath every day and put new water in it , I keep the solar panels clean , I never leave it out in the sun unless it is under water , I make sure the screen to the pump is clean , i have tried different spray heads , it has just quit working , sorry but I can not give a good review for an item that even if you follow the instructions to the letter just stops working .Read full review

Needs More Power!
This barely works in anything but BRIGHT sunlight. If there's even a slight shadow over the solar collector, it stops. The accessories provided pop off the pump outlet because they're too loose to stay on. I would not buy this again.Read full review

No point without a constant water supply
Unless I am missing something which would change things, definitely not impressed .Easy to assemble, and did work(with constant full sun). Can't see how it would work in a birdbath, as I had it in nearly a foot of water in a pot, and it went thru all the water in maybe a minute. Went thru a few gallons of water in a couple of minutes, and that was with me constantly adding water. Goes thru water very fast, and is impossible to keep pump immersed.Read full review

fountain
It’s a good product as long is sun is on top of it. The second sun moves it stops. I keep moving it all day where there is sun. I thought the solar battery will charge at least for few mins. It stops working instantly as soon as there’s a little bit of shade.
The good thing is that it’s very easy to work and it looks nice.Read full review

Definitely needs full sun to work.
The item arrived rather quickly from overseas. It works, but definitely needs full sun. Even covering one of the cells with shade will stop the flow. No way to store energy so it is work or not work. If you have shade it will not work for you, full sun = nice little fountain for birdbath or water garden.Read full review

Works under direct sunlight
If under direct sunlight, the fountain goes strong. If under indirect sunlight, it will sprout intermittently, which is still pretty to look at in my opinion. Overall good value for what you paid for it. BTW , birds are afraid of it if you put it in a little bird bath. Hopefully, they will get used to it!Read full review
