As good as the original

My macbook is a late 2011 model. After the orginal charger stopped working, I had purchased several generic chargers not wanting to shell out the $80 bucks for a new apple product. My macbook would hold a charge, but would stop re-charging so I was never able to unplug it. I thought something was wrong with the charging port. You get what you pay for. So far it works!

The cord is very short. The charger gets very hot when plugged in but especially when trying to use the laptop while charging. If left closed and charging it doesn't heat up too much. I am wary of leaving it plugged in for extended periods of time or if I leave the house/sleep. However, it does what it's supposed to. It charges! Have only had a short time so I will update if it ends up crapping out. Pretty good deal for the price (so far). Read full review

Thoughtfully designed. Excellent features.

This cord is very well designed. The 60W adapter works great, doesn't get too hot, and has two small, built-in extensions that fold out so you can wrap the cord around them for safe transport. This feature is key, as it keeps the insertion point of the cord straight. When I transported the cord unwrapped, just loosely in my bag, it slowly wore and broke from the constant bending at this point.

The L-shaped mag attachment is another great feature, lighting up red when charging, green when charged. Another key feature is the fact that this cord can be plugged into a regular two prong outlet, as is, or it can be switched out with an attachment cord (not included) that almost triples the length of the cord and plugs into a 3-prong (grounded) outlet. Both are helpful.

I only use genuine apple products because I know I can be assured of their quality. Thanks, Apple! Now for making products that are environmentally and biologically safe! Read full review

It likes but not true

Its a very good building copy but details unmasks it. Fins to coil electrical wire has not stability. Genuine plug has not too.
It works but is not a genuine power adapter.
