I'm no PC expert and nearly 80 years old.
I inserted the supplied DVD and did as I was told (also entering the code on back of DVD sleeve when asked). Patience! It takes a quite time to scan for channels (make a cup of tea). After the scanning was finished I plugged the tuner in a USB2 socket and waited till balloon said 'device safely installed'. I then plugged roof aerial into tuner. I could watch all the channels I get on my big TV.
Then, for fun, I tried the little portable aerial supplied. I put it in the window fully extended and it still received all the channels (but occasionally freezing on a couple of them). The remote control also worked perfectly, but does require direct line of sight (so don't put the tuner at the back of the PC where you can't see it).Read full review

Just The Ticket!
Software very useful and fairly simple to use. This August DVB Stick is USB but strong not feeble and man enough for the job. I recorded many Freeview Channels with an AMPLIFIED Indoor Aerial positioned carefully in the room in a medium strength signal area. Amazing performance really for such a small plug-in item and my laptop isn't top of the range. Very useful piece of kit highly recommended. If you don't care about HDTV go for this one
Very reasonable and functional SDTV USB tuner. Good reception.
Currently have three working together so can watch TV and record from two others muxes at the same time. Have had it working on PC and Raspberry Pi set up with both OSMC and OpenElec. Three of these at this price are stil much cheaper than one HDTV tuner.

Great little unit, works 100% for me.
I am using it on windows 10 and windows 7 with windows media center and works perfect on both.
Using roof aerial and finding more channels than my main tv (both freeview and saorview)
