simple and effective.
Like a lot of guitarists, there are times when I need to play a solo over the basic chord sequence, without having to employ another guitarist. I've used a bigger Boss looper in the past and found it to be unecessarily complex. This one is more than adequate, having the facility to do more than one loop, the display shows clearly what you're doing with 2 loops and the loop time is enough for most applications. The only awkward issue is having just one 'button' for all the operations, so I use a momentary switch plugged into the stop/undo jack socket as an 'all off' switch. If you're in a real band and are a genuine musician, playing real music, then you don't need to do a 'Sheeran', where everything is looped (why not just use backing tapes?) Another plus for me is it's small size, as it fits into my pedal board.Read full review

Brick outhouse build quality.
I'd been planning to buy a looper pedal for ages, and I finally settled on the Boss RC-1 over the TC Looper because it didn't need a separate power supply, being equipped with a 9 volt battery.
The only problem I've had with it is getting the timing right: you've got to play well, count rhythm in your head, and operate the footswitch properly, which is a bit like patting your head while rubbing your belly. Takes practice. And swearing. Lots of swearing. But eventually you get your act together.
The price compares well with other models, and for what you pay you get a very sturdy unit that looks as if it will last. There's also an instruction manual in the box, which you might well throw away, but this would be a mistake. It comes in a ridiculous number of different languages in tiny print on a big sheet of paper. Cut out the English instructions and read them before you use your pedal.
Was it a good buy? Yes. I get to accompany myself and hear what I sound like when I play. Pro tip: there are hundreds of looper instruction videos on YouTube. Check some of them out.Read full review
magic looper
Simple to use, clear ans crisp, easy to become confident to progress, grear for laying down the basic riff to noodle over. can check what you think you are playing is what it sounds like for real, improves phrasing and touch as you concentrate on the finer points. Probably capable of doing a whole lot more than I use it for.... needs mains power as it eats PP9 batts for breakfast.. Read full review

Simple & Fun
I only wish I bought one of these years ago, they're great fun and when you put them into the end of your pedal chain are great to help write song with. It's really simple to use and the "clock face" of lights help you know exactly where you are.Read full review

Great pedal for new users or advanced players.
Easy to use if you are new to looping. Still available even though there are five upgrades to the series, shows that plenty of people still want a basic model. Does what it says on the tin and does it very well.Read full review
