Good, solid machine

I always have trouble installing printers and this one was no exception. I tried WIFI but couldn't get my router to recognize the printer (I'm sure my fault). After a 2 hour struggle to get the LAN to work with it, I discovered an option in the printer which was set to "LAN off" if I recall the name correctly. Anyway now it works great and the color reproduction is quite good in my judgement. The value is incredible. I suspect the setup guide could be made more idiot-proof for my benefit.Read full review

Very easy to setup and connect to my wi-fi system. Test pages printed quickly and were of decent quality.

Good printer.

I bought this printer lightly used on eBay for an attractive price. It was easy to set up and works well. The color currently is not quite as accurate as my aging Oki, but its feature set far surpasses the Oki. The two side printing feature is amazing. Toner cartridges are reasonable. One day I'll learn to adjust the color settings.Read full review

Printer works well despite less than ideal packaging

Once I got the ink powder residue removed from all the inner working parts and installed new ink cartridges it worked fine. Apparently the old ink cartridges released some of their powder during shipment because the cartridges were not bagged to prevent spillage during rough handling by shipment (evidenced by punctured shipping box). Fortunately the printer was well wrapped in bubble-wrap or it surely would have been damaged.Read full review

More noise than I am used to

I had gone through two HL-3140 printers and have an excess of toner cartridges expecting the printer(s) to last longer than they did. Because of that investment in toner, I found this used HL-3170 that uses the same cartridges. I hope it lasts longer than it's two predecessors.Read full review
