Very helpful pocket guide with lots of history and interesting commentary of the surroundings

This is the newest revision. The Ramblers club re-walked and completely revised the route directions during lockdown in 2020. All guides take a little getting used to. What one author thinks is a difficult stretch may be easy for yourself. Colin is a cautious guide and is very descriptive along the way. I can walk for longer than the stages are planned at times, but the use of transport at either end is too helpful to ignore, so I have kept to the book. I have found when walking in the rain or poor light that I have to hunt for the next instruction in the text. I use a highlighter on the pages for my own ease of use. It also gives me a task on the tube as I travel to the start of each section.Read full review
