You MUST Buy One of These - Today!!!

My first foray into 3D printing, and I'm bowled over by how good it is.

The assembly instructions are extremely easy to follow, and the print area is superb. Once assembled, you can print right away. You won't be alble to tear yourself away as your first print slowly appears in front of your very eyes!!

I did notice an issue with the Z-axis motor binding, but I pacaked it with a little bit of cereal packet card, and the job's a good 'un!

It IS built down to a price, but don't let this put you off. I guarantee you'll start your printing life by making enhancements for it, and that's half the pleasure of owning one. You'll be bashing out filament guides, fan covers, cable chains, tool holders, and control covers to your heart's content, as well as designing your own bits and pieces.

You only get a tiny bit of filament with the printer, so order yourself some PLA on the same day you buy the printer, otherwise you'll be tearing your hair out wasiting for it.

I also advise paying a little extra for the filament. Forget the stuff sold by these guys at around a tenner; it's too brittle and you'll waste time printing things that break in your hands. There's a UK seller who knocks out PLA at about £12.50 a Kilo, and the difference in quality is palpable.

THere's only one real downside (in my opinion) and that's that there aren't enough hours in the day to play with my new toy!!

Take your time with the build.

For the money it's a good printer. Arrived with warped print bed, flat spot on the bed guide wheels, this bit was pre-assembled and I think they'd over tightened the adjusting nuts for the wheels. Creality sent a new glass print bed... warped!!! If only they'd up their game with "Quality Control"
Build.... it is a sort of kit. Take your time... Instructions show the assembly of the X axis gantry brackets and guide wheels before sliding it onto the Z Axis uprights. I'd suggest adjusting the brackets wheels one bracket at a time on the Z Axis uprights before assembly. Easier to get a feel for the tightness of the wheels. Use a set square and check the X is square with the Z and make sure all the screws holding the brackets to the X Axis gantry are tight.... you can only reach them while it is off the machine. Get some feeler gauges.... stop messing about with bit's of paper for the nozzle gap to the bed. Get it running smoothly before banging bits of upgrades on. Hopefully this will help someone.

First 3D printer

after lots or review hunting on youtube I settled for the Ender 3 3D printer, now I've worked on some very large cnc machines during my life so having something as compact as the Ender 3 would be a dawdle and it arrived promptly, it was well packed and very easy to assemble with the instruction booklet and tools. All fittings were neatly sorted into there own little plastic bags..Be warned they give you spares so don't panic if you have any left over. So onto the assembly..some people on youtube complain about things not lining up well I had no problems with the frame I had a little bit of rocking on the z axis but some cardboard packing underneath the motor sorted that out I also had to put a little piece of cardboard behing the z motor so that it run true vertically...so they give you a small amount of filament which is not enough to do anything really useful with so I had ordered some pla of of ebay getting the filament in was tricky I think the way its positioned is a little awkward but after a few tries it fed in and I did my first ever 3d print and the result was impressive.... I had a little bit of a problem on the z axis with over extrusion but after applying a little engineering lube to the thread all prints after were spot on...I have had a 7 hr print going and not a single problem, the motors never got hot so if you are looking for your first 3d printer then I would recommend this one....

pros : inexpensive, 24v supply, easy to assemble, great prints and I used the profile supplied on the sd card in cura slicing software

cons: micro sd card to small for western fingers and the slot is in an awkward place with a little room for it to slip inside (i know it happened to me)
power supply fan got noisy after a day and I have to tap the case a few times to silence the fan.
Cable tracking could have done with a bit more thought but I have not had any snags yet.
z motor does not sit flat problem with the aluminium rail not motor
not enough filament supplied with printer

overall I am very pleased with this printer and do not intend to add any modifications to it as none are needed, I am not endorsed by creality nor do I get any goodies from them this is an honest review aimed at folk looking to get there feet wet in 3d printing without to many problems
and good results.

High quality prints for the fraction of the price!

This printer is amazing don't be put off by the lower price!

The printed does require some construction as it comes in parts. But the main bed is already built, the instructions a very easy to follow. Videos are available if you are a visual learner.

When I printed my first 3d model I was blown away from the quality. A solid model, extrusion lines are very faint and minimal imperfections.

This printer has a huge community around it, alot of YouTube videos, endless forum posts on how to tweak it. Also the 3d printable parts to upgrade or customize the printer makes quite engagingand and fun owning this printer

My verdict is that it is worth the money! Don't hesitate to buy this one if your are looking for a robust, quality and popular 3d printer.

Excellent printer, would highly recommend

Excellent printer, really easy to get going but the included instructions aren't great, refer to YouTube for a set-up video as it makes it a lot easier to understand. I've printed so many things in the two weeks I've had it and it gets really addictive. There are a few things that could do with improvement on the Ender 3 but it's a great all round machine and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to get started in 3D printing. I use Cura rather than the software that comes on the SD card as I prefer its interface and it's also easy to use.Read full review...

Budget printer

For anyone looking to a buy budget printer to the world of 3D printing, this printer is perfect. Does require some assembly but if you can assemble IKEA furniture you’ll have no problem here. The CURA software is very good but would recommend downloading the CURA software and not use the software off the CD as it is a bit out dated. As for the printing it does it very well for a budget printer did exceed my expectations. After looking on the internet I found a few musts that people have said to print for the printer just to get the best of the printer and also maximise the life of the printer so to anyone looking at buying the printer i would recommend looking these up and printing these straight away.Read full review...

Great little 3D printer

For the price this printer is great out of the box producing good quality prints with little set up. Easy to put together and feels like it will last a good while. Plenty of spares/upgrades online and a large community of users giving good advice. New to 3D printing and very happy so far.Read full review...

Impressed

After purchasing a similar used printer and having constant issues resulting in no 3D prints and sending the unit back i purchased to Ender3

I have to say I was very impressed with the accuracy of the parts and the overall build quality, everything is tight and rigid once assembled unlike some others that tend to have some movement across the frame

The prints are accurate and precise

Software worked seamlessly

I really very pleased with the purchase

Brilliant 3D printer

I’m blown away by how good the printer is, especially as it costs so little.

Once you’ve built the printer properly and tuned your settings in your Slicer software, it’s unstoppable.

I would recommend this to anyone wanting to try 3D printing.

Be warned, it’s addictive.

Also... check for loose screws in the box and check the belts are tight enough. This honestly makes the world of difference.

Amazing machine for the price, very, very happy to recommend it!

Took about one and a half hours to get up and running. The printer is exceptional value for money - there's lots of YouTube videos that show best to tweak the settings so it's pretty easy to get some amazing prints in no time. I use Cura to slice my models prior to printing which works well although I find I usually have to print with a raft to avoid issues.
The Creality Ender 3 is a great entry into the world of 3d printing - I've been recommending it to everyone! Go for it - you won't be disappointed!
