This is a beautiful book for these times.

At a time like this in the world, where we're all beset with the misery of Covid-19 and cannot trust the poltical leaders of the UK and the US, well here's a gentle book, full of wonderful, tender little sketches of a young boy growing up one summer in America. Make no mistake, there are one or two scary parts among the beautiful written stories, but for the main you have an opening of the eyes of a 12 year-old-boy to the beauty of the world and of life.
