Awesome 70's Series well worth the revisit!

Whilst some of the dialogue & interactions may not be to "modern" audience standards ,it's rather surprising watching it with adult eyes (rather than the occasional repeats I saw as a child),the subject matter Emergency was prepared to tackle in its time. They conveyed the feel of how their Fire Rescue teams operated so well,& came as no surprise to learn later certain cast members of the mythical "Station 51",were real life Firemen.

Likewise though, you'd have the by-play of events in between at Rampart with hints of their off-duty lives but never becoming the focus, with that firmly being on the rescues
Hadn't seen the series Down Under in many years & given it's age, unlikely to ever be picked up by local streaming services more's the pity. Despite it only being available as a Region 1 import & relies on one of my ageing multi region dvd player's,it's still far more watchable for me than modern alternatives with over the top CGI or situations. Well worth the import buy! .👍😃

A 1970's Series Worth the Money

I have always enjoyed watching the Emergency series which is why I decided to purchase the series DVD set. The attention the directors gave to realism and accuracy could not be beat. The fire fighting sequences were second to none and undoubtedly could not be done today because of the rules and regulations the state of California has as well as the EPA. Both the main characters worked well together as did the characters comprising the hospital staff. The show chronicles the state's paramedics program and all the obstacles it endured as it found its own. At the time Los Angeles had 2 of the only 12 paramedic programs in the United States. Two of the extra episodes that were filmed in Seattle and San Francisco were good but failed to compare to the original series. However, Survival on Charter #220 was very well done. Again the building fires used in that special were spectacular and frightening at the same time. Read full review

Squad 51

Great show. While the episodes are not re-mastered, they are still in very good viewing condition. Each episode is engaging and while 51 years old, are relevant and entertaining.
