Easy upgrade

Unfortunately I was unable to use the converter for the single socket in question as the square cable grips were not able to take the thicker multiple wires in the socket box securely. However it would be fine for a normal socket where I have used these without any problem before.

Doubling Up

This is a good piece of kit. It allowed me to turn a single socket into a double with very little fuss. It sits flush against the wall so no ugly gaps and feels solid in construction and use. Yes it sits about 2cm out from the wall, but unless you want to pay an electrician to gouge a bigger hole in your wall, this is ideal. No problems getting the wires in as the connection points are sensibly placed/spaced. It looks fab on the wall and no one would notice it unless you pointed it out to them.Read full review

Schneider 1 gang to 2 gang socket converter

Turns your big standard single wall socket to a double without the need for a bulky back box.
While this is obviously a bit thicker than a normal socket it is nowhere near as bulky as a socket and pattress.

Simple conversion socket

Fits in an existing single socket opening without any cutting to make the opening larger. Slightly greater on external depth but much tidier than using a multiple socket adaptor.
