Great saw great value

I have been messing about with a circular saw for a couple of years and decided to buy this I looked at Dewalt (who make great tools) but as a dIYer (not a pro) I did not want to spend a fortune This little thing is perfect I am using it for a decking project so i bought an Evolution blade for fine cut wood - so have not used the blade that comes with the saw But it is easy to set up and use Great productRead full review

OK for cheap saw, but not accurate

I have been very dissapointed with this saw. Ok, it is only £120 or so, but I should have known better and spent the extra money on Makita, which I would advise you to do as well.

Here's what I have found to be wrong.

It's not accurate. There is too much wiggle when setting the fixed mitre angles, so it's never quite right. Bit like the American colour standard - NTSC - Never Twice the Same Cut. This is my main complaint. And the angle guide for bevel cuts is much too small and hard to see - very difficult to set up correctly.

The dust bag is useless, doesn't collect anything, so it's very messy.

The laser is almost but not quite right, so it really doesn't help.

The clamps are next to useless. For a 45 degree bevel cut the clamp gets in the way.

The platform is too small, so it's fiddly to set up larger bits of wood.

Hard wood, like oak, can splinter with the supplied blade.

So, I guess it's OK if you do just want something quick and cheap, but if you actually want to cut an accurate mitre or bevel, then spend more money.

Happy

Needed a sliding Mitre saw but didn’t want to spend a lot, got this 2nd hand but in excellent condition.
I am happy this does the job perfectly, is smallish and does disassemble to make storage easier.
Cuts are clean, angles are pretty easy to set there is a little backlash but I have had no issues with fit.
A good experience.

Excellent tool

This is a very easy to assemble saw and you can see, and feel, the quality of it all the way through this process.
I haven't managed to use it very often, at the moment, but I have managed to test it out on skirting boards and it performed perfectly.
I am actually looking forward to doing the decking project that I have now that I have this saw.

Value for money saw

Bought this saw for a home DIY project, attempted to build a pergola. Very impressed with saw overall and I'm by no means a professional 🤣 but this saw did everything I wanted with ease. Cut through 3x3 posts with easy and cleanly.Read full review
