I checked my model number on my refrigerator before ordering and again after installation and it was not one of the model numbers that weren’t compatible but it still didn’t work. Filter Does Not Display Volume of Water Dispensed

My refrigerator will not display ounces of water dispensed when using these filters. This has never happened before with any GE branded filter. The indicator shows zero water dispensed. I've removed and reinstalled the filter to be sure it was correctly installed but still no indication of volume.Read full review

Great Water Filter

We drink gallons of filtered water. No soda or other drinks. The water tastes as good as any that we have purchased. By the way, the water that forms the ice cubes is filtered also. Interesting how heavy the used filters become when we do the replacements. I can only assume what has been filtered out of the city water. Read full review

Works well but too expensive!

Works great. However, GE has a real gimmick making you use their own filter. There is anway to get around this but is time consuming and a challenge.

The "new/sealed" filter was actually old and expired.

Although this filter was still "sealed" and unboxed, my GE refrigerator did not recognize it because it was old and the RFID chip had expired. I've owned my refrigerator for over 5 years, replaced the water filter regularly, and never had this problem. I should have known better that to buy it "cheap" from a thrift-type store on E-Bay. Perfect for RPWF users

This appears to be a genuine GE RPWFE filter with the chip missing. That means it’s perfect for those of us with older GE refrigerators that take RPWF filters (no chip sensor). Good Filter, Too High Priced.

These filters are fairly easy to remove and replace and have a reasonable usage life. The biggest downside is the hideously high price.

Factory filters at a great savings

GE doesn’t really give you any options about the length of time when it comes to change water filters.
Their chip counts down the last few days. If you don’t get the filter changed. It shuts down the water and ice.
