Poorly designed. Inferior quality.

To lock in place you must turn filter slightly. The plastic is so soft it mushes where it locks in. This makes for a poor seal and creates a leak. Plastic should be stronger to absorb the rough handling and the lock position should have a more positive feel.Read full review

Great filters just too high.

We purchased new refrigerator unaware that every 6 months it would require a filter change.
Cost from OEM is outrageous!

Filters work fine but change interval way too short.

Too bad GE charges so much for these filters. I have all GE appliances in the kitchen.
As soon as the GE refridgerator goes out of warranty I will be bypassing the chip. I know how much the chip costs. A real money maker. Filter works fine and continues to work well past the due out message.Read full review

Replacement filter for GE Profile fridge

The part is very easy to install, but you do need to pay close attention to the instructions, because there are apparently two types of base this fits into. Mine requires a push straight in, but the other requires a twist. Getting it wrong can damage the part. Read full review

Return To Organic Water

GE RPWFE purifies the water from bacteria, chemicals, minerals, and pharmaceuticals.
It has a 6 months timer to maintain quality filtration. I only trust this water source.
Essentially, my faucets and shower heads require brushing and regular cleaning

Chip to difficult to take off in tack.

Chip was just to difficult to take off of old filter without damaging the chip. Went from having one filter being 19 days overdue change and new filter; to old filter not working at all ( chip broken). Now new filter won't work either because I have no chip.
