Good bang for the buck, but not great.

On first glance it looks like a solid set, however upon using it a few times I encountered a few problems.

Firstly the 17mm long socket snapped at the top during normal torquing procedures. It could have been made slightly stronger.

Then I saw that the long 10mm socket was different than the rest, and does not look like the one from the picture. It was not polished and finished the same way. May have been chucked in last minute.

Lastly, the quick-release button does not always work, sometimes the sockets get stuck on quite hard. Other times they do not snap up nicely and just keep falling out. A better internal spring could be used with some more lubrication would be my bet.

Overall it's an okay set for the occasional DIY oddjob, but not sturdy enough for prolonged use.Read full review

Depends on what you're using it for

My only complaint with this set is some of the sockets don't sit firmly on the ratchet and can easily slide off, specifically the normal sockets. The deep sockets, more so the 14mm upwards sit completely fine but the rest range from very lose to slightly lose.

Other than that it's not a bad bit of kit, if you're only using it for little jobs then buy it, ratchet itself you can tell isn't of snap on or even halfords quality but definitely seems capable, quick release works fine.
I'd just recommend using the deep sockets more than the standard sockets whenever you can as they're of a more stable secure fit.

Summary
Good: Price, Sturdy ratchet.
Bad: Loose sockets, only 1 year warranty, quality isn't brilliant.
Verdict: Buy it for small jobs, or wait for the halfords 28 piece to go on sale for £12.50 (it does quite often).Read full review
