Rebuild don't replace
Could not get my pool vac to move properly and cover the pool bottom regardless of the amount of valve adjustment to the vac hose line. Disassembly is easy with just a few basic tools. This kit is the heart of how the pool vac moves. The components I replaced had minimal wear. They didn't self destruct they just all started wearing out. With all the bearings getting sloppy it just didn't put the required movement into the arms and pads. This kit tightened up all the bearing fits and restored the proper movement. It cost a tenth or less of what a new vac would cost. I was able to adjust back the amount of flow and vacuum to the sweep hose and the pool vac is climbing walls and covering the entire pool bottom.

I received the package today, to my surprise, when I opened the package, I saw a big hole in the original Hayward bag. Someone literally ripped the original bag, and ripped the small bag inside to get some parts, I checked and noticed that 2 long screws were missing. Renew your pool cleane for a fraction of the cost of a new one
Your Hayward pool vac is constantly working to keep your water sparkling clear. However, it is literally eating itself alive as it does it, and the parts that wear out first are the turbine and A-Frame. Even if they appear OK, the constant wear increases the gap between the turbine and A-frame that generates the 'walking'... and soon your vac is not doing its proper job. It gets slower and slower, and maybe just turns in circles.

Much better than replacing the whole vacuum!
I thought I might have to invest in an entire new pool vacuum when mine stopped moving. But once I took it apart, which wasn't hard using a Philips screwdriver, it was obvious to me that at least one of the bearing disks was bad and so was one of the wheels on the A-frame. I ordered this kit and it included all the parts I needed plus some extras in case I ever need them in the future. I probably spent about 30 minutes at the kitchen table putting it back together with the new parts. I crossed my fingers and as soon as I hooked up the vacuum, there it went! It's been cruising around the pool very well since then, although it does seem to have an affinity for the deep end and I might have to manually vacuum the shadow end. When the speed of the second decreases, knows that spare parts are sold on ebay.
So, I decided to purchased genuine spare parts and make, myself, the repair.
In 12 days I received spares.
Now, the ool cleaner runs @ a speed near of a new one.

This is a worth while kit. My navigator went from crawling to running across the pool again as it should. It is an easy kit to install. Hard to believe that it makes such a differ3ence. There didn't seem to be a noticeable difference as far as wear when the original parts were removed but there was enough to make a significant difference in the operation of the unit. To replace some parts like this certainly is worth not having to replace the entire unit. My personal experience with this compells me to do it again if and when it becomes necessary. My gator runs like new!
My gator had gotten sluggish. He needed a rebuild and this kit worked like magic. It was easy to install but be aware of the right and left indications on the parts and body. Took me about 45 minutes from start to finish. You will need a 1/4" nut driver or socket wrench. Huge price swings on this kit. I paid under $30.
