Maximize your Z600

If you have a boot block date for 2010 (eg. motherboard revision C2) you can use these cpus to maximize your processing responsiveness, speed and/or production. You will need memory in both banks as well as heat sinks for both cpus.

I am VERY pleased with the ones I bought from this vendor.

Nice Pair!

Mine are running in an Asus DC6 dual cpu MOBO, and they are running with flying collors.

With 12 cores (pair), and 24 threads they breaze thru rendering, they run at 95 watts@ (or less), and they are completely MOBO manageableso I really could not ask for more in a processor. Especially considering their age, and who knows their service history...

If you intend to render 3D projects / models or run Loads of virtual machines then I would recommend these X5675 processors as a very good choice.
The value of the dollar per core alone is probablly the highest you will find in a proven CPU.

Great upgrade

Went from 2x E5640 to 2x X5675
I use my server for hosting game dedicated servers and the difference in amazing.
Load times were cut in half, server is actually a lot quieter and CPU usage has dropped quite a bit.
Used to cost 5-6% CPU per server. Loaded 2 up last night and it idled at 2% for 2 of them.

High speed and more cores

Worked perfectly and was easy to install. Was a speed improvement over the originally installed processor pair.

Works great with my cisco b200 m2 server blades

Works great with my cisco b200 m2 server blades. I used to fill only a single socket and it worked with vmware. Now I fill both sockets. And my cisco VIRL software nested VM works well.

Excellent 12 core processor, still close to current generation of processor

Excellent choice to upgrade first generation I7 X58 chipsets. Twelve cores will ensure future proof even with current (2015) technology. If computing does move to 4K and VR, then you will need to upgrade to a newer overall system, including 2nd-4th generation I7 systems. While the stock speed is 3ghz, it lags slightly behind the average speed for modern day processors, but its clear that intel prefers 3-4ghz processors and rarely goes faster because of the heat produced. Lastly, since this is built on 32nm fabrication, its not that far off of the 22nm fab of the current generation meaning this is a great valueRead full review...

Excellent CPU for its age. Manage to score the same as a stock 5820k in Cinebench.
